Lazy Farming 101: Gold and Elixir
I have recently encountered many complaints in my clan and in the global about how they cannot get loot. So I've decided to shared with you how to lazy farm.
Before I start I will tell you one thing. Lazy farming is probably best for TH 6 and above, who are in Silver 2 and higher.
(One more thing, that this article is subject to changes and updates)
1. Using the Right Troop Combo
For lower level farmers, use BARCH along with a few giants (to draw away fire) and a few wallbreakers (explanation in #2)*. Players also use goblins but that's just your preference. For more info on why BARCH is awesome, check this link made by jaredasch1

Once you get higher (in gold 3 and above)and your opponents' defenses get stronger use BAM. BAM is efficient because it gets 6 barracks working for you instead of 4. The barbs are necessary for a little tanking and the archers for buildings behind walls. A 50% increase in production capacity only means you can spend more time farming and less time waiting. While it's possible to get good farming results with other combos, over time BAM should produce better results just because you are making more troops faster.
Goblin usage may get similar results since you can skip buffer buildings and go straight for mines, but I haven't spent the time to do a comparison.
There are other strategies but if you want me to put them in here then please say so in the comments.
2. Picking the Right Base
This is the most important part of increasing your efficiency because picking the wrong base can set you back in time, cups and troops. When analyzing the defense, try to get used to thinking about how many troops you may need to use to get the gold easily. A 200k or less base that requires all my troops to get it all is an instant skip for me.
- Loot Available - obviously the first thing to look at while spamming next. I generally only start scanning a base if it's over 100k.
- Storages - I do a quick scan to see if the gold storages are full. If they aren't empty I skip unless the loot is over 300k or the storages are easy to get to. The graphics for the storages are bugged however so an empty looking storage is not enough info to press go.
- Mine and Pump Positions - if the loot available is good I scan to see if the mines and pumps are on the outside or first wall layer. Some bad bases randomly sprinkle mines and pumps further into the core. I will probably skip these unless the loot available is high and worth the extra troops it will take to get there.
- Even Resource Amounts - Even resource amounts show that the loot is mostly in the pumps and mines.
- Similar Resource Amounts - Resources close together like 190k gold and 190k elixir.
- Mine and Pump Levels - If the little box next to the mine is overflowing with gold then and the elixir pumps is full of elixir that is a very high chance that all the loot is in the pumps; of course you also have to determine what level they are, lvl 8 and higher are the ones that actually give you loot.
* the reason why we use wallbreakers is that as I said some people put their mines and pumps inside. That way you don't have to waste troop to try to get inside.
You might need practice using this method of scanning for good bases but it will become an automatic thing once you get used to it.
3. Attacking Efficiently
- Single Mines/Pumps - My default spam is 4 barbs followed by 4 archers. I drop these and just look away to the next mine/pump. DON'T spam a free mine/pump. Always use a single archer or minion where possible.
- Two or More Mines/Pumps - If there's a row of mines/pumps it can be more efficient to drop a line of barbs followed by a line of archers. You'll take down the mines with less troops than single mine/pump spam.
- Enemy BK - My default spam for lvl1 BK is some archers to take him out and some barbarians to keep him pinned.
- CC - Generally the bases I hit will have an empty CC. But if you got unlucky and run into one, either try to take down the mines/pumps and avoid them or just light them up. Don't even bother trying to take down a dragon the troop cost is terrible.
- Don't forget the Minions! (only for higher players) - It's easy to forget to use minions and just take down an easy base with barbs and archers. But if you think about any raid it's about HP and DPS. Adding some minions to each attack means less barbs/arch expended and your army will be ready faster if you're relying on 6 barracks going and not just 4.
- AQ (only if you have her)- this goddess is all about skill and experience. Keeping her from taking damage can increase your efficiency a LOT, something I'm still really bad at. Use her to snipe mines but always make sure she's got tanks in front (some people carry along 3-6 giants) and use her towards the end of the battle so you don't forget about her and get her killed.
- BK - Really only good for taking down exposed TH quickly. If you use him on a charge into core, he will be out for a long time so save him for when you really need him.
- Spells - if you had to use a spell you probably failed in the base selection step. Generally I will never use a spell unless I'm going for a core.
4. Suggested Farming Range
TH 6 - 1150-1250
TH 7 - 1300-1400
TH 8 - 1400-1500
TH 9 - 1700-2200
TH 10 - 2500-2800
Now this is from what I heard and from my experience. They always change so ask your clanmates once in a while.

Cdresko - As a TH9, I like to hit Crystal and then farm in the 1900s. The league bonus is better, along with an additional 50 DE that you don't get in Gold 1. Just my two cents!
This method is a very good method for still getting the 50 DE loot bonus.
With this you can probably get from 1 mill to 10 mill gold and elixir each a day. Happy Farming guys! Hope it helped! ;)
Wait till my next guide on how to farm dark elixir comes out!
:)
*IMPORTANT NOTE*
Lvl 3+ Barbarians and Archers are needed for farming. Upgrade them ASAP to the highest level you can.
The best th10 farming range is Champ League
Very intense there though, expect to lose 300k each on every defense.
For a less intense place to farm, I suggest 2700-2800. Great loot, outside storages, huge loot bonuses, and not so brutal defenses.
