TH8s, what Strategy are you using in wars to attack other TH8s.

Are you (or anyone) having success doing this against bases with three level six airdefs that are all in center? Any advice on where you place the drags?

Mass level 2 drags, minions. If a ad is near an edge and is high level I take hog riders in cc and send them towards that. I then use dragons near the 2 other ad with rage spell. Haven't tried it on 3 level 6 ad

If they have 3 lvl 6 AD's then it's hard for a fellow TH8 to 3 star, a 2 star is a more likely outcome if they are well placed. You would have to drop spells well and use cc troops to get to core to get the 3.

If they had high lvl ad's I normally hogged them. In the past. Depends on base even more now with giant bomb buff.

Thanks, BigPapi. This is the same thing I'm running into. As an early to mid-level TH8 attack force (hogs lvl3/wiz lvl 5/loons lvl 5 but drag lvl 2 and no golem), I'm finding that I can threestar by either airraiding (still new to that) or hogging ~70% of th8 bases in war post-update. But the ~35% of TH8 bases that have lvl 6 ADs in center AND a bunch of interior space where GBs could be...I'm at a loss there to there. And the rest of the TH8s in my clan are struggling as well, so it is those well-designed TH8 bases that are available to be attacked.

I do this too against bases that have a lot of empty spaces (and therefore are hard to hog due to gbs) - hogs from cc to the edge airdef, then air the rest.

My go to for most bases is dragons with balloons. Dragons act as shields and balloons take out defense; I really like to wait on the balloon deployment until the AD is locked on a dragon. I drop a heal spell on the dragon and let him soak up the damage from the air defense so the balloons can attack without as much damage.

I have been playing around with Pekkas - I just got them and they are level 1. So far, I've 2-starred with them; they are so ssssssllllooooooowwwww.

I've also done dragons with hogs, but not as much - and not since the update. I do think it could work to hog a "safe" section of the base and hit the other part with dragons - or balloons.

I still use my lvl 4 hog ridaz in Clan Wars, whenever the base I'm attacking isn't Anti-Hog :p

Dragons can wipe out literally everything if you can manage to destroy two air defenses. In fact i 3 starred the number 12 guy, a lvl 85, when i was supposed to attack number 28 a lvl 55 guy in our clan wars using only lvl 2 dragons.
