Three staring a maxed out base is not supposed to be easy... I think this is especially true because troop AI seems to be lower than when I first began playing. An example is wizards. At level 1-3 I found them to be fairly useless taking up too much space, like I would rather have 4 extra barbs or archers than a wizard. After getting them up to level 4 their attack power was soooo significantly better that using them was a no brainier. I liked to use wizards with giants, and for a while it worked out really great. It was magic when the wizards would follow the giants. While giants tried breaking walls and taking the damage from defenses, wizards would kill the defenses.... but over time, I am convinced SC dumbed wizard AI down, and for the life of me I cannot get the wizards to follow the giants, and now defenses will target wizards, killing them off quick and then re-target giants when they actually do follow..... soooo wizards are now basically cool to use as cleanup after/if the giants destroy all the defenses?
I find it extremely frustrating to take the time to build an army for clan war or high loot raiding along with spells, taking over an hour to make only to have..... Uhhh, WB's getting shot, giants squashed against the walls, wizards going in the wrong direction, and anything else that could go wrong, does go wrong. As a poster kinda said, "close eyes, drop troops, hope for the best" because I really do believe that luck is sooooo important now, maybe even more so than actual game play skill that winning and losing has become almost random. Like I've had wins that were like "really?? I'll take it tho!" and losses that have been "you HAVE got to be kidding me!!!!".... once I read from some blog or other that any TH 7 maxed out could be beaten by 10 dragons, so I tried it once and even using 3 heal spells (yeah yeah rage is "better") only to get 1 star.... watching the dragons take down the first AD and then proceed to go all around the second AD, unreal. Anyhow, I have come to the conclusion that no matter what, Super Cell wants to sell more gems and the 10% that probably buy 90% or more of the gems sold, so long as they are happy...
