Its about communciation and teamwork. Barch is usually a 1 star strategy, which is why it is frowned upon. However, if a war is already well in hand we reward our clan by letting people barch or snipe THs for better war loot (we have tons of very lopsided wars).
If you don't have much elixir you need to communicate that to your leaders and set a different expectation.
The reason I joined my clan is because they didnt CW. We only started CW again a couple days ago and we were winning by an unasailable margain so I took it upon myself to attack a base noone had attacked. Just because Im bad and a waste of space at CW doesnt mean Im a bad clasher. I may not offer much in CW but doesnt it matter more what you offer in the clan? It certainly used to when I started clashing.
You guys go that far? Pretty much when anyone loons the top player of our enemy clan, it's a 1 star, so I don't really see the difference between an experienced looner/ barcher getting 1 star
Although I really hate it when half of the people get 2/3 stars and the other half use their attacks to just snipe town halls when we're winning by a lot, so some spend lots of time and elixir training armies and the others spend 5 or so troops to get near 1 mil of each

Then you come in at the end and barch for some easy loot. It's not fair to your mates that got the stars for the clan win. If I see someone snipe or barch for an easy 1 star on their first raid it's a big C-ya later. I would talk to you clan and see if they are going to continue to war.
