I have max defenses for th8 and like 80-90 lvl 8 walls the rest are lvl 7 the game was getting boring so i upgraded couldnt bear it any more did i make the right choice or should i stop and finish walls? I wanted the aq cause the king is terrible now also.

No he shouldn't because its better to upgrade defenses than walls and his walls is pretty ok to, so dont stop upgrading the town hallQuote:

My advice is if troops and def are maxed along with walls at lvl7 then go to TH9. Even if you max everything at TH8, walls and all, you still can be three stared by premature Th9 upgraders with lvl 6 giants/healer combo. Th 8 is hugely imbalanced, not enough troops, poor def, not enough walls and on and on.
I maxed Th8 walls and all, had 5 builders but maybe kept 1 to 3 going at a time. Since going TH9 I got 5 builders going nonstop and doing heros at same time.

I was in the same boat as you earlier today and I just started my th9 upgrade. I have 70 lvl 8 walls with the rest lvl 7. I have my last two teslas going to lvl 6 right now and the only thing I had left to spend gold on was walls and the townhall upgrade since all of my other defenses are maxed. All my elixir troops are upgraded and I have been sitting on 5 million elixir with nothing to do with it so I think it was time to move on. I had completely maxed all my other townhalls before moving on, but I did not want to sit around and farm walls and waste elixir. I definitely think you are good to go ahead and upgrade townhalls since you have already done more than 99% of the guys who went to th9.
Definitely upgrade to th9. Having 4 builders (assuming you have the average th8 number) just sleeping so you can upgrade walls one by one is a huge waste of time. Especially since they keep adding updates that make walls more useless. But the fact that it was unbearable to you definitely means you should upgrade. It's a game.. It should be enjoyable. Don't do anything in life that's unbearable
They are walls and if you have noticed many people use hog riders(even after the update when they got nerfed) so i think level 7 walls is pretty okQuote:
