New AI lots of lost battles?

Curious how many others are having issues with new AI? Seems like troops no longer target defensive troops and general lack of focus which is funny because that is what was said to be fixed.

Instead ad of two or three star attacks I am not lucky to get one. It has basically deterred me from attacking as seems like a waste.

Maybe be I just need to relearn. FYI use the giant healer combo. Immortals often die before get off the ground. I know there is loads of messages about the change on them but don't see any of general play changes.

what new AI? the only troops that got a new AI in this update were valkyries

I haven't noticed much of a change in AI other than the improvements to Valks, and to troops trying to get through walls...

P.E.K.K.A. are notoriously dumb as I recall from the old days of when GoWiPe was so popular. Now that it's seen a revival of sorts, we're going to have to use extra caution to clear those surrounding buildings before we send in the P.E.K.K.A. to do a hero's job! :)

I've had a wall breaker go rogue and run within a tile or two of one wall to blow up a seperate compartment 8-10 tiles away. Other than that one spasm the new ai for all troops has worked quite well for me.

Please dont blame supercell for ur losses the troops act the same as the last update

_{i call bull💩 troops do not act the same. Dropping giants they break off into various groups that is a joke. Instead of targeting the same close target they break and go after targets behind walls or on the otherside, wizards have been dazed and confused avoiding defenses going after elixer pumps. My wiz have gone to the point if going back and forth 3-4 times before attacking its a joke.
I love the game and still play but now it seems batching is the only way to make decent loot.}

The AIs still stink!

I have been fighting for a while using this army and last two attacks I had both failed it's not far to say I don't know what I am doing. Something has changed the way the troops behave attacking and feels like advantage is given to defensive player.

Time me shall tell and for now my battles are horrid.

Oh god, I hate the AI's of Giants and healers.

Yes... I was going to start a thread myself. It is getting ridiculous.

BK and AQ are doing really dumb things they never did before, not even to mention wall breakers.

Examples,

WB will now target exterior wall segments that are already open. 3 square opening, do they really need to blow off another segment. No, they are supposed to go to the next closed section.

BK has a straight run to a TH 3 squares away but turns to attack a wall and then a cannon.

AQ starts attacking a wall on an empty compartment instead of walking three squares around, as the archers with her did.

Two buldings, AD in front, xbow behind. AQ decides to attack the xbow first.

AQ leaves a rage ring to attack a collector 5 squares down instead of the two buildings right in front of her.

BK deployed at the end of adjacent collectors, attacks the second in the line, walking right by the first.

BK walks down half a side and turns a corner, going even further down that side to attack CC troops that weren't even attacking him. This has happened twice. BK seems to like going for a walk.

Three buildings all on the same plain, instead of straight, BK goes three buildings down to attack a storage.

Troop AI has always been a little iffy, but since the update it is ridiculous. If you are farming in gold or crystal leagues, you may not notice as you can pretty much just dump troops. But I am at 2950 trying to go higher against well developed TH10s and it is killing me. Every wrong turn makes a difference.

I have been playing for well over a year now, so don't tell me I don't know how troops are supposed to act. This is getting beyond frustrating.

Problem I've had is I'll drop troops next to an King outside and my barbs with attack the king but my archers won't attack till the buildings that are way past the King are destroyed. I don't understand their logic.

Archer 1:"Hey Girls lets show the King how strong our Arrows are!"


Archer 2:"Yea then he will definitely will choose us over that nasty Queen!"

Archer 3-7: "OMG HE IS SO DREAMY!!"

That's kind of normal. The archers won't target the king until he either attacks them, or they re-target after destroying a building. Now if he is closer than their next target, they should attack him first.

He was closer attacking Barbs than the buildings were when I dropped archers.

Maybe I am the only one who has had this problem. I cannot figure out, when I am farming (Barch), Lets say the Queen, with the attack radius of 5 tiles, gets alerted while my barbs are on an elixir collector (3 tiles). My archers follow the barbs to go wreck havoc on that pesky queen who is just steadily picking off the barbs behind the safety of a wall. As we know, archers have an attack radius of 3.5 tiles. The problem I am having quite often is that the Archers, don't shoot over the wall to kill her. They shoot at the wall!

Why do the archers not shoot over the wall and tear her apart? When they finally get done shooting the wall to kill the queen, they never move and start shooting her as soon as the wall space opens?!

I thought it was just a one time thing, but it is every time she is behind a wall, the archers insist upon opening a space for the barbs and then killing her, without moving.

Anyone else notice this?

That used to happen, doesn't seem to be the case now. Had a defence today - bunch of archers trigger my AQ, so she ambles over & starts shooting at them - they ignore her & continue to shoot the wall between them & her. She easily took out the bunch of them with no damage.

can't say for sure, but similar seemed to happen same attack with my cc troops - issue looks like walls, when there's one between the defender & attacker then the defender seems to be ignored, if defenders cross that wall or attackers break it then defenders get targetted as before.

This, I would say, is due to the AI helping the barbs attack the wall. Troops will now attack the same wall segment, helping each other. That could be it.

Tested on my farming raids again and again, giants do split to different directions more easily now, when they do that they cant kill sh!ts and get destroyed 1 by 1 and my raids fail more frequently therefor less resources being farmed, and what will I do if I really need the resources? buy gems! good thinking SUPERSELL, oops I mean SUPERCELL

Guys don't go on an SC slaughter streak...

The troop AI was actually fixed IMO. The troops all targeting a single wall makes it much faster and efficient to go thru bases ;)

I didnt even realize the new AI, isnt worse for me than before. Im just Barching btw. lol

Did you read all the threads.... this has little to do with breaking walls. Heroes are walking right by buildings, WB are breaking already opened sections, heroes are going clear across the map for now reason.

Targetting is broken and it is very frustrating. I like the wall AI tweak, but troops are not behaving like they should in other circumstances.

I have no problem with lost raids, I like the update. Especially valk has turned much improved. Interestingly , I have now noticed in several raids that the valks target heroes immediately if they appear nearby. They can gladly pass by a tower or storage just to get touch with the hero. I had e.g. today several raids where valks killed the AQ. BK is some more difficult due to his higher health but he is attacked the same way. Valks together with wiz are a nice combination, valks have high health and wiz behind finish cleaning. Besides, jump spell makes them easily target center of the base. Also work in combo with giants. Clash on.

Yea I use the giant healer strategy for wars, and before the update I get 2-3 stars gauranteed. After the update I only get 85%+ 1 stars. Idk what's happening, I attack the same lvl bases, I use same strategy, there's no reason I shud be getting these results

Yep its boring now, forums are funner.

The wall breakers let me down frequently. I have recently seem them blow up a single segment of wall all by it self on the outside of the base. They also recently have been blowing up sections that are right next to where they blew up before. I know their AI was tweaked a bit before the last update, but it seems to have gotten worse.

As far as the new barb and archer AI, it sure makes them more suseptible to wizard towers and mortars as they tend to bunch up now.

In war, just used gowipe, opened up the core, pekka enter kill the queen....pekka is stood next to townhall leaves the core back through the wall an goes to attack army camp on far side. I know pekka are dumb, but I thought if it's stood on top of building it would hit that first, not pick something 10 tiles away. Was epic fail that attack.

Never raged so much at an attack before

One thing that still bothers me is the wizard dry heave.....if the one troop that the wizards target as defenders dies then the wizard just goes through the motions and makes shadow puppets instead of releasing his splash. This irritates me to no end. Not a new issue.....yet still an issue.

I've noticed a change to the AI.

Previously troops which were supposed to go for any target didn't - they all had a priority list - it just wasn't so broad as defences or any other building.

The inferno seems to have gone down this hidden list a bit. Taking the queen for example. She always loved infernos, clan castle, storages, town hall and air def over most things. Now she will ignore infernos unless her other preferred targets are destroyed.

The same goes for BK, he mostly ignores infernos now and goes for other things to the extent he walks right past them in the core.

It would be interesting to see the full priority list behind each troop if anyone has access to it. All I know as it is not as basic as the troop description implies and it's been changed since the update so it wouldn't surprise me if the behavior towards CC troops has changed too.

I have come to the conclusion that attacking troops no longer focus on defending troops thus they can pretty much get picked off. If a base has no defence troops it's rather easy. To pull them now is hard.

I really think this was an unintended side effect as it greatly tips balance in favour of defence. In fact since update I have yet to receive anything over a 1 star defeat yet in contrast my raids rarely yield more then 1 star. Seems like better off just not raiding.
