Why not upgrade to th10 premature?

I just recently started with th9. All of my defenses are maxed to th8 standerds other than 1 cannon and 1 tesla which are upgrading to th9 standerd. My walls are mostly skulls with 8 legos. All of my regular troops are maxed for th9 other than healer (lvl3). My spells are maxed th8 and my dark troops are maxed th8 other than hogs (lvl5) and minions (lvl5) and valk (lvl1).

I'm not sure I see a disadvantage to upgrading to th10 early.

Whenever I attack a th10 as a th9 I get destroyed due to the OP inferno towers. The base could have lvl 4 wizard towers and cannons, yet two IF's in the middle will wreck any army I throw at it.

So if I were to upgrade early and get my inferno towers I'd be relatively safe from th9's.

It would offer more loot for the th10's to attack me, but th10's attack me already so I don't see that as being a disadvantage.

Loot penalty. All the th10's I see are loaded, so I'd like to be attacking them more. Th9's I'd see a slight penalty, but still attackable. Add 20 more troops, maxed wiz and dragons and 1 more spell, I think it would probably be a bit easier.

You said that you recently became th9 and you already have maxed elixir troops? :/

Well if you can farm th9/th10 easily, then go ahead.

But remember that you will lose those juicy th8s.

Before you do it, at least go to where there are lots of TH8s and try to farm them first. They are easy to farm with lvl 6 troops and can have lots of loot. I suspect you are too high in trophies right now.

Loot penalty alone is the reason not too. Unless you plan on spending real money dont do it. It sucks that inferno towers basically make a lot of peoples bases, but if you are smart you wont rush to th10. Look at rushed th10s gold grab and ot is pretty clear how they got there and unless they keep spending they are kind of stuck.

I thought about rushing into TH10, but I am sitting at TH9 with purple walls, The only reason I wanted to push into TH10 was my recent push into Masters, Inferno towers are sick, but I figured that I still had a bunch of upgrading to do prior to me going TH10.

The loot penalty is huge, but if your maxed in stuff, I say why not! :)

If your struggling vs TH10s with Infernos now you will struggle at TH10, your farming troops are not really going to change by moving to TH10 assuming that you are using an efficient army. Wiz and Drags are not efficient farming troops.

TH9 does fine against TH10 defenses even with Infernos, its just a matter of adapting your army, spells and strategy and selecting a base that you know you can handle. I'm currently farming in Crystal 1, pretty much every attack is against TH10 bases.

As a clan we don't boost at all, so this is non-boosted armies, minimum spells, careful use of heros to clear up.

The extra 20 troops you gain to attack TH10s will not make up for the loss in ability to profit off of TH8s. If you recently became a TH9, there's no way even half of your laboratory upgrades are completed. Valks at level 1 are a clear indicator you're not ready for TH10. Valks are such a huge part of this new update, you should get them to at least level 3 before considering going to TH10.

paying 1000 gold per 'next' click will add up fast, and having to skip almost every TH8 you come across as a TH10 will quickly cost you a lot.

Max out 80-90% of your most crucial TH9 lab before going up I would say. inferno towers help you hugely on defense, not on offense.

Take this as you like, but this advice has been given to make others in the past and it has been taken well. Good luck.

Make the most of town hall 9, get your Xbows to lvl 3 and try get every single wall to Lego and the core to Lavas. That way you can move up to town hall 10 and already have an amazing base and there won't be much to catch up on, you must soak up the juicy raids while you still can :D

look for bases where the storages aren't covered by ITs...


i'm a TH9 farming in Crystal I and i am having no problem getting loot, you just have to be patient and choose bases wisely.


i use 24 loons, 50 mins & a rage spell or two if necessary (i really try not to use spells unless i have to). drop some loons to take out arch towers, wiz towers , and air defense, send some mins in behind to clean up & get the loot. use rage as needed (sometimes i use with mins to take out CC troops, heroes, etc.). and make sure you save heroes for the end in order to either pick up a star / save an otherwise failed raid / get to the last few storages.
