If you have a lv1 hero, is it actually better to not upgrade it?

Sounds crazy, but hear me out on this.

I turned TH9 yesterday and had enough DE to get the AQ immediately. I like using her in my raids as her extra range can help snipe buildings from afar. With the stats boost to the low level heroes, she's actually still useful.

So here's the thing, with her being useful even at lv1, I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading her. If I keep her at lv1 she heals quickly. If I start the upgrade process, soon enough she will heal too slowly for me to use on a regular basis, and with the change in the heroes, I don't know if her abilities will be worth it, especially considering I prefer to use fast cooking armies. Obviously for a one big attack like in a clan war a higher level hero would be better, but for farming it might make sense to keep her at a level that can heal quickly.

I know this isn't what supercell was planning when they changed the way the heroes work, but if it's the better option, might as well take advantage of it for now.

nope, heroes are still strong, especially the archer queen. i just got mine to 5 a few days ago (im a new th9) and her ability after the update is pretty crazy

Minimum to five to unlock the ability. Mine is upgrading to 19 atm and she is awesome. But I don't think I'm going past 20. At least not for a while.

get her to level 5 at least, for the ability.

I would not recommend upgrading further than level 10 or 15 though.

Except if you are a hardcore farming addict that plays several hours nonstop every day and doesn't want to use the constantly sleeping heros (sleeping because always upgrading) for your attacks.

Get lv 5 to make a more informed opinion.

But it is food for thought, after that you upgrade for so little benefit; just 4 minutes more sleepy time...

With her Royal Cloak, Archer Queen post update is moderate at best, you can still use her as complement to your ranged arsenal. Without Royal Cloak, she is nearly rubbish since it is the ability which get buffed with update. This saying, you might want to get her to level 5 at least or 10 if you can be bothered with the dark elixir need. Increasing her level more than 15, however, should only be done if you want to be hardcore farmer or champ.

Yes, it's still worth it to AT LEAST get your heroes to lvl 5 for the abilities. Overall you shouldn't need to depend on your heroes for farming anyways.

Personally I'm gonna keep my king at 5 or 10 for the regen time, but I'm going to max my aq

as you upgrade your hero your troops are going to take increasingly longer to train along with the hero to revive. it evens out for me. my heroes do about 70% of my farming a lot of time I like to cycle them- let the barb king die one fight and leave once they target the AQ then by the time I do another attack with just my AQ and train troops again my Barb king is back up- Im usually okay if I have at least one. If I have neither I will use my CC and spells if I find a base I can't take with just troops.

If you are needing AQ, barbking, Clan castle troops AND spells you're attacking bases too hard and need to rethink your farming strategy

The heroes have gotten a defense buff and a slight heal in battle- they are always worth shooting up in level in my opinion.

I get your rational; and to clarify my Royals are only lvl 5-6.

even though High level Royals got de-buffed, the low level ones got a slight buff. and they, if use wisely, can be used for nearly every raid.. just don't deploy them into the teeth of the defenses at the onset of the battle.

My Queen is a superior farming machine at level 5, because I use a fair share of Giants in my builds.. they distract the turrets enough, the Archers take down a lot of the heat as well, but when I release my AQ she cleans up very nicely.. most of the damage has been dealt by the regular farming combo that I use, so her and the gobs clean up any loose ends and she is barely touched.. and if she gets damaged its almost never to knock out. so I can use her for practically every raid that has no X-Bows.. (those poor TH8s)

The buff she gets from the cloak is quite nice since her attacks are slightly stronger, so in a pinch she can bust down that storage or that pesky ArchyTower in no time while under the cloak.. plus they get a smidge of extra health so they live a bit longer too..

But I plan on getting my Royals to lvl 15 minimum. was thinking about getting them to lvl 20, but now that they have been nerf'd quite a bit I not sure how necessary that is.

definitely worth it to level 5 minimum for you I would suggest, its only like 75-80 min down time, which aint bad when they get all the way K.O.'d like I said just deploy them(or at least the AQ after critical turrets are down)
