Different Base layout slots
Hello,
I have heard about this idea before and basically when you press edit base there is a button which has a house on it which opens up a screen like the 'buy new buildings' screen and there are 4 slots (or any amount of slots) and you can select a base which has an edit icon on it so you can change the name of the layout (for example, vault farming base or trophy pushing base) and when you level up your town hall all of the bases you saved get erased (because they cannot apply) or you keep one of them.
This will bring many players back to the game as I know LOTS of people who stopped playing because "Changing bases and base design was too complicated or hard."
This feature WILL take up a lot of server space, however, and so the servers may need to be bigger but if a clan war layout can be implemented so easily then each base already has 2 designs, so why not give the players a few more designs. This speeds up the base editing process and would allow for more time to be spent in-game and not just copying a base from online every time you need to change it (from sites like http://www.clashofclans-tools.com/Layouts and http://clashofclansbuilder.com/)
Of course the storage space taken up would be quite a lot but it would make the game easier and stop frustration when you have to change your base every few days if you're a TH10 or saving up.
DIFFERENT IDEA: Also maybe a 'Royal Altar' can be made and it merges BK and AQ altars together for like 50000 DE or something and it allows you to buy more than 2 'King' or 'Queen' troops but only 2 of them can be used to defend or attack at any one time.
The maths supporting the idea:
Assuming a 1080P image of a base takes up 3.57MB and there are 8 Million Players worldwide, given each player can save 4 designs for their base PLUS clan war layout and the current layout;
6*3.57*8000000=163.422TB of data needed to take screenshots of bases (of course the codes for the bases is smaller than an image)
Given a 4TB hard drive costs around $300 (WD Se 4TB for $298 @ http://www.newegg.com/global/au/Prod...82E16822236520 , enterprise grade)
Then the system for this would cost $12,300 and allow people to save their bases on the servers. Of course perhaps the file size of a base isn't even 1MB in which case it would be much cheaper.
Anyway, since you guys allegedly make $5,000,000 a day from Clash of Clans and Hay Day alone (Source: http://bgr.com/2014/02/11/flappy-bir...lash-of-clans/) then $12,300 is really no cost for the benefit the players would have and putting an end to the frustration of changing bases daily.
Thanks guys,
