Champions league...postponed

I know the feeling. I'm in exactly the same position. Maxed everything except heroes and walls, upgrading my pekka to lvl4 to get ready for the big push, the works. Than lvl8 tesla's which I had to have (already upgrading all 4:D), bombs lvl6 and ofcourse lvl5 pekka. Trophy pushing requires a different mindset, but I just can't stand the fact my builders are idle when there are things to be done. I just can't change my mindset, not even for a couple of weeks. I gave it a try and almost hit M3 but I just couldn't keep going. The OCD was just to strong...

I've been doing nothing but miniballing all through out Champ:
24 loons + 60 minions + CC: 1 dragon 1 bally 5 minions
2-3 rages at most, 2 lightning spells just in case *erm* something goes wrong (READ: Thor builder hut, barrack, etc.)

My approach does not make me the best hunter out there.
A clannie once asked if it would be easy to maintain a 3600 trophy count while on vacation.
I said that it was easy: I only raid 40-50x a season, and I ride 1x 1 day shield on the first weekend + 1x 3 day shield on Tourney weekend.
Another clannie then added: "Shouldn't be too difficult for you then, you'll only need half the attacks because Mag never 2* a base." :p
(My boys call me the Queen of 1* for a reason.)

But my style of playing, allows anyone (who can afford to invest at least 2-6 H of continuous play in this game - which is quite easy if you can multitask) to enjoy the best of both worlds: hybrid farming.
I do not have to give up the engaging adrenaline rush that you get when you raid in Champ league;
I enjoy the amazing loot bonus + the peripheral collectors that pop up everywhere;
and, oh, occasionally I make more than I lose trophy-wise and climb.

Sure, there are better miniball hunting strategies out there that can 2* almost every base
- but most of these strategies are elix intensive (28-32 balloons, 3-4 rage spells, freeze spells, :eek:)
...you'll never ever see a L5 PEKKA till the end of the year. :rolleyes:

And your base is never not ready.
I climbed as a new TH 10:
my King was a L13, my Queen a L15 or so,
and @3500 trophies, I once had all 3 X-Bows and both infernos upgrading.
^-- very bad idea btw - don't try it.

Give it a try yourself, don't just take my word for it.
6 months+ in Champ League,
a 3800+ personal best,
and an amazing time in a Top 3 clan (and easily one of the best out there)
...I'd say that you could go pretty far. :)

OP - unless you really like tapping your ipad screen for hours on end or insta-gemming armies, I would avoid farming in Champs (props to those able to do it, but most can't)

However, there's no reason you can't give your builders a couple of weeks off and push now. You will see how little value your defences have, and you might be less concerned about getting them all to max! Obviously if you want to push with GoWiPe, maxing pekka and jump might be a good idea. But most non-gemmers prefer loons or barch because they're more sustainable resource-wise.

Does it really matter if your base is maxed as soon as theoretically possible? It's just a game... play it however you want.

Playing tap-tap maybe - but then again, I like chatting with my clannies - but insta gemming armies?

This is by far the closest I've ever got to max. I dont count walls or heroes as part of my master plan as it seems too unachievable for a gemmer who only uses gems to boost barracks.

My freeze lvl 5 just finished today so that would have left me with only lightning spell lvl 6 for my only elixer upgrade left, and minion lvl 6 and all valk levels left for my DE upgrades. For gold upgrades I only had 2 AD's on their last level, and two cannons on their last level....then on to my CHAMP league push...

Now the update hits....*facepalm* 1 more pekka level....1 more jump spell level....1 more tesla level x4.... I HATE THIS UPDATE!!!! I want to be done with farming.....Champs league will have to wait....

I feel ya OP. I was 2 air def and 3 archer towers away from max TH10 before the update. Now, I have 4 more teslas. So close....so close...
