jdubya.... Sounds like fun. What clan are you in?
Thanks.
My clan is called EARN IT
my clash name is Nemesis
Just send us a request to join. I think we have over 25 wins now :)
Easier handling of non participants
Kicking out members out before starting clan war and inviting them back. ok, I have to do this. Takes time (my time!!!) to organize this! Why?! My clan would fight more wars if we would have acceptable options!
- opt-in is good (and necessary)
- set a self status "farming" (or so) is much better (no swords for these guys)
I expect some solutions from Supercell. Don't waste the (spare) time of the leaders!
Leaders lay rules down, and enforce them.
I'm Invader Gir, Leader of ANBU Elite.
Before the War update our sole issue was donations, because that was the sole benefit of joining a clan. We set donation minimums, we sent warnings to those not near those minimums after one week, then we kicked those who failed to meet them WITHOUT SAYING WHY. We're not monsters; all we need is a "sorry guys, busy this week" and we know you're still playing the game. It's people who do nothing and say nothing you want to kick. Dead weight.
Once we decided we were going to be a warring clan, we faced a similar problem. People did nothing and said nothing. We lost 4 wars in a row. So we mandated 2 attacks in 2 weeks, and started kicking people who didn't participate. We won the next 6 wars in a row.
Another way we make wars easier on the clan is to start them at the same time every week--like clockwork. Everyone in the clan knows that war starts Friday evening, prep Saturday, battle Sunday. No one is surprised by war, and those who know they can't pick up the game during that time speak up--again, we need to know the difference between "busy" and "desertion."
So. One war a week. The people who didn't like it left, the people who wouldn't do it got kicked. So far, this has won us a lot of wars. We're 10-2 since this started: Those two losses had us horribly outmatched: we have two Town Hall 10s, they had EIGHT.
Fun fact: About half of those wins had us against superior opponents. How'd we win? We participated, they didn't. I spent an hour wondering why that Town Hall 10 didn't even bother getting 2-stars on me. I'm a 9, it would have been easy. We won that war 87-86. And anyone who makes my clan lose like that is getting kicked.
Great idea and a lot of people have the same idea

it would be great if before a war was started that each member could opt in or out and then the for the clan to get matched with a clan the size of those opted in. This would make leadership a whole lot easier as it would then allow harmony to once again return to my clan!
Apologies if a thread already exists for this.
A lot of the opposition HAVE NO GREAT REASON FOR THIS NOT BEING AN OPTION! Yes all the great clans all work together for the goal of being great! And yes with the option to opt out before a war starts would change the way the game works, but is it fair to have to kick good players simply because they are trying to upgrade? The higher you are the more upgrades cost and the more the troops you NEED cost! It's not as if you can go to war with goblins! You have to have a even mixture of the low and the high! And is it fair for the clan members who put forth the effort of creating a good troop to lose all the elixir they used, simply because some didn't choose to go to war! And there for those that fought didn't get even a quarter of the elixir that they put forth! I think that people being able to opt out of war or allowing the clan leader to opt them out before a war search even starts is a good idea!!!!! Otherwise tell me a GOOD REASON it shouldn't be an option!!!
Yes vs the task of watching and kicking

Except that if they did that, clan members would forget to change their status' regularly and then complain because they are "stuck" in the war, or "out" of the war.
Or, you know, you could be sure the whole clan knows that war is starting on Friday at ____pm PST and if they do not wish to be in, they need to voluntarily leave for a half hour..... Take the job of booting out of the leaders hands. If the person "forgets" to leave, they have to participate, plain and simple.
Just a note, my alt in in my clan, and depending on # of members, I have had my alt leave the clan so that the numbers are correct. It takes 30 seconds to leave, and later 30 seconds to request to join and come back. Anyone who says its bothersome needs to rethink the term "lazy."
Do you really want the task of clicking in/out for every single clan member for the war? Seriously? Because thats the best solution when clan members already do not want to "bother" leaving the clan in order to not be in the war. You think they are going to "bother" checking their war option status every time you are going to go to war?
I honestly hate the idea of booting anyone. It kills me when someone goes inactive during a war and has to be booted. Especially since the majority of my clan are inter-related to eachother. If I boot player Joe, his cousin billy might leave, but Joe didnt participate and the clan knows the rules right? Player Joe should have a good reason for being inactive in the war.
And thus far, one time we had a person who ended up unable to participate, but announced it beforehand. So the clan put the BEST troops possible in the CC, the player turned her war base into a TH fortress and they didnt participate, they didnt get booted either. Because they communicated and we were ready.
If more than 3-5 members of your clan voice opinions that they cannot participate in the pending war, HOLD the war!! how hard is that????
A clan which wants to war 24-7 needs to be filled with people who can devote the time and energy and resources to that. Anyone who cannot should find themselves another clan.
By the same token a clan which only wants to war 1-2x a week, should not have members begging for war constantly.
You cannot have it both ways. Either your are a "war heavy" or a "war light" clan.
And your clan should understand if you need to postpone a war for a day because one or two of the top players or more active players is not going to be on enough for a couple days to participate.
There is a lot more to a war than editing your base, & then attacking. An active clan will be discussing donations, attack plans, and giving advice on base design. Its not just 45 minutes of play for 48 hours of prep/battle time. 95% of your clan needs to be able to participate or the war should not be started to begin with.
So your complaint is....... You would rather kick than to opt someone out! And yes I would rather click a box and that person be out of war than to kick! I think it's funny that based on whAt you say you wouldn't like this option and yet you kick people during war and let them back in after! Seems like you popped in just for the sake of arguing, because your whole book of explanation explains nothing but that you too could use this option so thanks for adding to the.reasons for having the option! Sorry I forgot to mention earlier that I already posted I think it should be.In the leaders hands! So they can CHOOSE TO USE IT or not,
