Major backlog in my town

I'm looking for advice for the best strategy for dealing with my town. I am level 8 and everyone wants to visit the B&B, to the point where I have a huge backlog of townies hanging around waiting.

So what is the best way to deal with this?

A. Turn away any new townie who wants to visit the B&B as one of their 2 buildings (which is pretty much all townies bar 1 or 2)

B. Let them visit the other building for the xp then send them home rather than queueing for the B&B, but then miss out on the gift for completing 2 buildings.

C. Keep everyone in the town and just wait it out til the B&B is free.

I am trying to work on my personal train, I have 3 slots and still on maximum time but that's my current priority, to expand the amount of visitors I can bring in and reduce the train time. My town holds 21 visitors and brings 6 new visitors with each train, still on max time for that too.

Have you expanded all the slots in the B&B?

The B&B and the Beach House are slow. I always have "wanderers" who need to go to one of them. I have expanded all the slots, an upped the times as far as they will go. I put a couple of parks with benches so that they can sit down while they wait there turns. Of course, they never do! I could send them away, but they are very patient, and seem happy to wait. I am at Reputation level 15, and it is still a problem. I just don't let it bug me. Happy "Towning"!

That's what I did and I manage to clear them out :) But at that time my town capacity is at 27
And I had 6 slots so I suggest u upgrade u'r town hall & B&B slot

Depending on your bnb upgrades...should be slots then time at least once...I might even suggest upgrading time once after upgrading to 4 slots as that little bit of time bonus really makes a difference in getting three runs of bnb people through in a day..

Also if you are in a nh, you guys can coordinate and turn visitors away and pick up each others visitors for a bunch of 1 shop visitors vs 2 or 3...

Seriously, I think everyone encounters this problem when they first get the B&B. it does balance out as you get more buildings but in the meantime, I suggest filtering out some of those wanting it right at the start, or send some of them to other buildings first, so you don't fill up your guesthouse all in one session, meaning it stays full for the max hours, apart from during the night. I find it helps to have vacancies at intervals, if that makes any sense. :)

In addition to the advice above, I would keep them around unless your town is full and your personal train is ready for pick ups. I think its better to get a quick one-building visitor rather than keep your town full of people waiting around. If there's room, leave 'em, they will get their turn. Btw, it will even out- especially when you open more slots & reduce the time.

I personally can't stand backlogs so when that happened to me in the early days I turned them away and picked up visitors from other NH's while I focused on expanding the B&B for time and capacity. It's really a matter of personal preference. I figured that backlog was costing me a TEM if they took up valuable town space that couldn't be filled by express train visitors, so I sent them away and brought in others who wanted a single other building. Once you get your B&B fully expanded both on capacity and time, you will rarely if ever have a backlog again, and if so, then only one or two and for a very short time. A fully expanded-for-time B&B visitor will hang out for 5 1/2 hours, much more reasonable than 8. :)

I agree, they were rare for me at first. Now they come with considerable more regularity (now that I don't need them as much), but I remember when it might be two days before a visitor would give me a brick. (Paint always came fairly easily.) :)

thanks, I would be patient and wait for the bricks and paint to come to me.

Thanks for the advice, I have all 6 slots on my b&b and about to start reducing the time. I've just got my spa which seems to have eased the backlog on my b&b. It really does seem to have balanced out now, and I'm not even getting a gazillion requests for the spa, which I thought would happen.

Funnily enough this morning when my trainload of townies arrived I had a sudden rush on Cinema requests, which is usually one of the least requested buildings so go figure!

I certainly think upgrading the personal train is the way forward. I've got the time down to 3 hours and I'm getting a much faster turnover using that rather than the main train.

I do love the idea of 'Major Backlog'!!!! I'll look out for him in future updates lol :)

YES the personal train you are def on the right track. Im rep lvl 13 or 14 not sure which since im at work right now and cant check. But i dealt with the personal train early on, i lowered the cool down time first and now im working on the passengers. My turnaround time on the train is 1 hr and 30 mins, so really its easy for me to dismiss all the B n B peoples and just get them from neighbors if i want. plus i have the luxury of kicking out any townies that ask for things that i dont want to give up or cant do. And my neighbors are happy as well cos they get a nice queue of people waiting to be picked up so really everyone wins.
