2 questions:
Thanks to you guys, my coins are increasing, and I've leveled I think to 18.
1. Tom now wants diamonds. Is it worth paying paying Tom to work for you? There's been a couple of times today when I am tempted to do it I have no qualms about extra diamonds.
2. Does anyone buy the extra spaces in the machines, like the third in the dairy farm?

1. Yes tom requires diamonds after his free use. But don't hire him now. Now spending diamonds on slots is more preferred.
2. Yes everyone buys slots. They are really useful. Things can be made overnight or while at work.
Oh max out your spaces/slots first always in your machines, especially dairy and sugar first. Then work out how long you are going to be away from your game overnight and expand other machines up to the time you are away. then you can go back to those machines later after you do your new machines and expand fully then your slots.
saying that my jam maker isn't fully expanded as I am never away that long.
others will tell you to max your feed mill immediately, I didn't as I was on all day and had no problem making, feeding animals but it should be one of the early ones you max out on.
Dairy needs the most slots first, then sugar. But, if you have another device, just make a second farm and feed its products to your main farm.
I work from home, 95% of the time. That's why I'm on my Ipad often, and can check it. Another farm? How do you make a second farm? What account do you use?
<some other game> isn't that fun any more..."Buy this pile f crystals" when I know other people who played it before me have a thing that makes crystals daily, and the game won't bring it back. I'm bored with <some other game>. I kept seeing Hay Day commercials, where the guy looked at the pig and said, "The pig gave me bacon" So I thought, "meh, <yet another game>." But I downloaded it, and it's nothing like <yet another game>. I love this game, and the support from this forum is beyond what I expected.
So when Hay Day stopped giving me diamonds per level, I bought them. Atleast I don't think it gives me diamonds per level.
Early on in the game, by far the best use of your diamonds is to lengthen your production queues. Give priority to the bottleneck queues (the ones on which other production machines depend: sugar, dairy, animal feed), then expand the others.

The OP has already used the free trial for Tom, and now that he is asking for diamonds OP is asking if it's a good idea, or if it would be better spent on opening production slots.Quote:

As you level up you will never have enough dairy and sugar products, trust us on this. So, filling up the queue with as many as you can is so helpful. This way your farm is still working for you while you are away.
I also suggest maxing out the production slots on the feed mill because you can sell off the excess for coins. Feed sells very well on the RSS. But, to be cost effective, it's best to just make extra cow feed. The price for cow, pig and sheep feed is the same but the production times are very different.
I make extra cow cow feed all day and I make goat feed at night.
I eventually maxed out the production slots on my bakery and popcorn maker. Bread and regular popcorn is also a good thing to sell on your RSS.
IMO, those machines are the only ones you should max out. That's assuming you are not away from your farm for more than 8 hours at a time. If you only play once a day, then max them all out.
Tom is such a great tool. I'm addicted to him.
Maxed out the feed mill, dairy and sugar. Started making more cow feed. Got enough planks through maxing out corn, I made my barn 175. Still needing wood for my silo to get it to 175, I think.
Bought the machines. Made enough in a day to buy the boat.
Sometimes I see question marks on friends profiles, but can't find trees or boat orders..hmm...I might hire Tom, I need saws and wood. And leveled to 21.
My ipad is next to me during my work, so I'm constantly checking my farm...frankly, I have no idea how I'll manage on vacation next week.
