I am around 1100 trophies. I am a town hall 7 looking to get a barbarian king, and I need a way to get dark elixir fast for my bk and his upgrades. I have been using lightning spells, but I only have 2 and they are not leveled up at all. Plus they take FOREVER to create. I currently have about 1,450 dark elixir. Any good armies/strategies? I have all level 3 troops, making barbs level 4 right now.
higher you go in trophies more de you find. it sounds like you just recently got th7? you'r doing pretty well. just load up 2 lightning spells and go farming. get what you can when you attack and if you see a good opportunity to zap, then zap.or drop 5 bucks.
if you zap on a revenge attack they cant revenge you back. oftentimes people will revenge people who zap them.
De farming at 7 will always be hard. Its almost not worth IMO,

although its focused on higher level th's. I'd almost throw the idea of not bothering with de at th7 and moving on.

You need to be in a higher trophy range, minimum gold, and also you need to level those troops up some.
Any tips for my trophy range? I find a consistent 500 DE - 1,500 DE. I have enough gems from achievements/gem box's to get the BK (I already have my 3rd builders hut). Should I do that or get it legit? Again, I am at 1,100 trophies.
save gem to buy 4th builder hut. push your trophy to 1k6+ to 2k . easy to get BB king.
higher is better. you HAVE to be very active (aka not log off for 4-5 hours) but you can climb to 2,000 without doing anything but sniping exposed townhalls with barbs and archers. Once there look for anyone with full lvl 3+ dark elixer drills outside the base and snipe them out. If the drill is full but on the inside a couple lightnings are great. Just remember you're looking for full+easy drills, thats where the monies at.Quote:

Firstly, you need to go up in trophy, preferably even higher than 1500. With this army composition, this shouldn't be a problem cuz you can easily 2 star TH7 and 1 star TH8.
Secondly, you should only raid someone that offers at least 400 DE. Anything less than that is not worth your efforts. I found that DE drill raids are not as efficient because I always get very little and at the same time lose trophies. So I only raid storages.
Attack strategy:
1. Clear cc if possible.
2. Ignore or kill king if possible.
3. Choose a side that is closest to their DE storage. Then, check for bombs/traps
4. Deploy ~15 barbarians and some archers to clear the outside structures, providing a clear passway to their storages. Immediately follow this by one giant (in case of spring traps), two wbs, then the rest 7 giants. Once the giants attract the defenses attention, start spamming archers and barbs. Use your wb wisely because you only have 8 of them. A rage spell will be very helpful, but it takes 45 min to cook. I normally would avoid it unless they offer tons of DE.
5. Deploy your goblins when their storages are exposed! And do NOT drop them all at once.
6. Take all their DE/gold/elixir
Last notes:
- When you are in possession of > 10,000 DE, lots of experienced TH8 will find you. To circumvent this, I would boost all barracks and get >6000 DE in 2 hour (raid every 5 mins).
- Some people avoid TH8 cuz they are afraid of revenge attacks. Well... don't! TH8 are my most favorite targets. If they don't revenge you, somebody else will raid you. So who cares right? :D
-Zapping is pretty inefficient IMO. Three spells take 1.5 h to train...
