Space Bar Not Working

This problem has been annoying me for some time so I finally took the time to check the forums and see if it is a known issue. I wasn't able to find another thread with the same subject so I'm starting this thread to identify the issue. The problem is that the "space bar" button doesn't work on the Numbers/Punctuation keyboard.

My current phone is the HTC One M8 and I'm just using the standard Qwerty keyboard. The same "space bar" button works in every other application I have tried. I had the same issue with my old phone, the HTC Droid DNA, prior to upgrading to this one and I was also using the standard Qwerty keyboard. Communication in game is already frustrating enough; it would be much appreciated if this problem was addressed.
