I just got to lvl 38 and I sadly am really low on coins so I cant get the jeweler.
I am on the verge of quitting because saving up gold is really hard and being self sufficient to sell expensive stuff is also very difficult.
I usually buy all my crops from markets and then make stuff and give it to town people but now I really feel bad because I have a building unlocked but I cant make it.
do you guys recommend selling EVERYTHING that I have in my storages?!?
I would suggest never buying crops at all. Unless you're not paying attention and you use all, but then just buy enough to get you restarted.
Don't buy farm decorations either if you do.
Find things you can make quickly that will always sell. Animal feed always sells almost immediately in my store. Sell as many high value items as you can in the DD. Don't sell them to the farm visitors or truck or boat orders.
Any time you see something cheap in the DD buy it and resell it. Lots of people sell eggs at the default price - 10 eggs for 50. You can sell them anywhere between 100 and 150 and they will get sold pretty fast. I sell mine for 123 because I like consecutive numbers. :D
If you don't need to expand your buildings urgently sell any tools you get too.
Don't give up. I remember when I had to save money to buy new buildings. Now I've got 4.3 million and I can buy/build pretty much anything I want.
You can plant corn and sell it for full price. If you have ~15 RSS slots, and ~500 silo capacity by the time you are getting full, someone will come along and buy 10 to 15 slots of corn. Advertise on every cycle of harvest&plant. If your silo gets full take a 5 minute break and continue. Run your machines and make products.
You can almost make 5k coins/hour only from corn. You can also make bread and chicken feed constantly. They are almost in-synch with your harvest/plant cycle and are sold very fast. You don't have to advertise them. They will be sold anyway.
I'm only on level 28 have similar issues as you. I decided to sell off nearly every thing of value and now just make bread, sugars, butter & cream and sell them in the RSS. I also make animal feed. I'm collecting BEM and selling off SEM and land expansion materials for now. I've been able to raise about 20K in a day's time doing this. I didn't want to get into the "wheating" thing so this is what I do.
Bread is a great suggestion. It always sells at full price very quickly and it doesn't need any valuable resources to make.Quote:

I went from being poor as a church mouse at level 39 to being a millionaire at level 46 so this method definitely works, but I was prepared to spend some 'real' money to buy diamonds and hire Tom and I know this isn't an option for everyone, and there was no town to worry about then either - but if there had been I think I would have had to ignore it/put it on the back burner whilst I built up coins.
Ive noticed that lately there are very few people who sell items very cheaply, its almost as if the DD is 'dead'. Any tips on finding cheap stuff?

Here's a question. If I sell all of my expansion material will the game give me more than compared to if I hadn't sold those items?
Can anyone give me double coins for town expansion material? Like I give you on max price then you sell it back to me on 1 coin then I sell it back to you forever again at max price?
BTW if you are not into decorating and have empty space in your farm. The best money making is probably fruits. You virtually don't have to do anything, other than waiting. Blackberries yield the most coins per axes. Olives yield the most coins per saws, your best option here is cacao.
Lets say you have 20,000 coins. If you invest 10,600 coins on blackberry bushes and 11,000 coins on cacao trees, after 6 days you will double your investment and will have 44000 coins. So in 30 days you can be a millionaire if you have 29000 coins to invest.
I'm not sure I understand the question. The items drops are triggered by activities in the game. Picking crops, making items, harvesting items from animals, etc. Which item it will be is randomly generated. There's no way to know what you "would have" received in some other circumstance.Quote:

I did that and never had problems with money on levelling up for machines and I levelled up fast, It was tight around lobster levels but sell a lot of blackberries and you will be rolling in it.
I only stopped doing this method when the town opened and I needed tom for other things and had enough money anyway, but always found enough free diamonds in between times to hire tom again, only for a day as I never had enough barn space for more than 100 axes and saws. I also kept every axe and bought all saws etc that I see.
There's a lot of information in the new to hay day forum on how to make money, why leveling up quickly can hurt you and loads of other things in the "new people tips" thread. It's not just my ideas but real questions and answers from successful players. Check it out. The link is in my signature.
1. Never sell to NPC visitors
2. Never do truck and boat orders, unless you want to get vouchers
3. Make bread, popcorn, cream, carrot pies, berry cake or carrot cake (even though the DD is filled with berry cakes, they will sell....eventually-----otherwise make carrot cakes)
4. Now that we have the new update, make the cotton fabric in the loom (no more blue sweaters!). You can use cotton fabric to make the clothes in the sewing machine, and sell the clothes (work towards the mastery), or you can just sell the cotton fabric as it is.
5. If you have the ice cream maker, make vanilla ice cream when youre awake. Strawberry when you go to bed or aren't able to make vanilla ice cream.
6. Make pancakes from the BBQ grill.
7. You will obviously be using white/Brown sugars for some of the products I mentioned. Sell off any excess, or stock them for making more products.
8. If you want to make sugar to just sell it, brown sugar is the most profitable.
9. You can also make an orchard of trees/bushes (plant lots of trees/bushes). Apples are the most profitable trees. They give you a 200% PROFIT margin, whereas the rest of the fruits and berries only give about 100% profit. However, the actual amount you will gain will depend on how much you can put in. Example, you use 50k gold to buy 50k gold worth of apple trees. When you have fully harvested all the trees (until they die), you will now have 150k gold ----you spent 50k, but you end up with 150k, thus your profit is 100k ------which is 200% of what you put in. However, all of this is dictated by how much free land you have left to use, so being organized with your trees and bushes will make for more room for as many trees as possible.
apples give the most profit, but they don't sell as fast as cacaos or blackberries. Nonetheless they should all be sold by the time you wake up ------ in a few hours. Also it will be a PAIN cutting down the trees/bushes.....so....try wheating while you are waiting for trees to grow. So really, your efficiency for making money off of orchards is all dictated by if you can cut them all down before you can plant new trees.
10. I mentioned wheating previously, just grow all your fields with wheat. For every 68 fields you harvest (so basically, for someone your level who doesn't have 68 fields yet....you will get a special items every 2-4 minutes....when you get to a level where you have 68 fields...which is lvl 40 something I think, then you will get a special item every 2 minutes). However, how many items you can get is dictated by how much wheat you can harvest, which is also dictated by how much wheat you can STORE or get rid of. Thus, having a big silo can help, or having lots and lots of RSS slots can help.
11. If you ever hire Tom, always make him get the jewelry ---- even if you don't have the machine yet, he can still get the jewelry that corresponds to your current level. When you get to level 40, you'll be able to make tom go find diamond rings, which are the most expensive items in the roadside shop. The other jewelry sell for high prices, too, but not as high as the diamond ring, which sells for like 700 something each at max price.

I agree with nearly everything you wrote, but the apples being the most profitable doesn't make any sense to me. If you have enough trees time is irrelevent and the cost of the tree is not an issue. I find the only limiting factor to be the saws and axes. Because of this, I find (at my current level) Cocoas are more profitable trees than apple trees.
I.e. 13 Cocoas is 1,123 at max price less 550 for the tree = 573 coins profit per saw. Whereas, 13 Apples 514 coins less 150 for the tree = 364 coins profit per saw. I agree that the cost of apple trees is low, but from a purely financial stand point that would be irrelevant unless you had a limitless supply of land or saws.

NOTE: there is a number X where if you spend X amount of gold on cocoa trees, they will yield more profit than apple trees (because of how much land there is in hay day)....I could figure this out if I knew how much free/available land area(tree boxes) there are in hay day....but that seems like way too much work...lol
But that's exactly the point that the previous poster was making. You would have to collect so much more saws that unless you're using TOM it will be impossible to keep up. Also, more trees = more time spend on reviving/sawing and more land space. Which yea, if you wanna smoosh all your machines together will work but from an aesthetics point is not so good.Quote:

Hey there :) try cutting back on shopping. It's difficult; the game becomes a bit less fun if you're a "shopper" like me. But if you're buying all your crops instead of growing them yourself, you might be losing thousands of coins a day. It adds up. If you stop shopping even a couple of days, you'll see a big impact.Quote:

I fully agree with you LetTheMusicPlay, which is why now I have 151K in coins. :D I am making a killing in the RSS, letting my gems grow and leaving them alone is a start. I have been cutting down in spending, hee hee, I have found out on what sells and what doesn't pretty quick. Sweaters do not do so well in any shop as they just sit there collect dust, eeks! Sell building parts for either the barn/land/silo you will make a huge killing. Good luck! :DQuote:

Yesterday I bought myself the Jeweler's just because so now I have less than what I had said but it's not that far down, it can replaced quickly.
