Hog strategy still alive and kicking?

Note: this is not a thread about FEEDBACK to the update so please don't merge with feedback to update thread.

Giant bombs were never the issue this update regarding Hog Riders.

The issue was Heroes not being able to be lured anymore. But after reading a lot of threads and noticing their small range, could hogs still work based on the fact that Heroes can't one shot hogs and the fact that they won't be in hero range for long?

These two facts combined make me think that hogs could still work even when I thought they were doomed. Has anyone tested it out yet?

people need to hog and show us replays. what are you guys waiting for?

I hit one giant bomb WHYLE A HEAL SPELL WAS DOWN ON 35 OF EM and they all got wrecked

Heroes have about a 5 square range, they basically do nothing. Giant bombs make them crispy super quick though.

I have seen high lv hogs getting killed by giant bombs in my clan war. :)

My clanmate had lvl5 hogs with 100% health get instakilled by a double lvl1/2 giant bomb.

Hog is still viable but quite risk to win. I had a 2 stars hogs against a max defenses bases (except new tesla), heroes 30ish centralized.

3 stars with hogs in high level raids is likely impossible imo.

Hogs were still the way to go until they did this ♥♥♥♥ty hero update not happy at all makes it so hard to raid now

I failed a hog attack in war and another in my clan has lvl 5 hogs and he failed badly so high risk of failing id say we need to find a new strategy

Ohhhh man yes we just lost a clan war 85-22 and 80% of enemy attacks were hogs and they 3 starred everyone except 4 people on our side

Hogs aren't dead. It just takes more skill than spamming your hogs and then healing them. You have to try to find and avoid the giant bombs.

Avoid giant bombs?? i don't think i need to put giant bombs together anymore, try to avoid my hereos near the defenses... one of my clan mate got his hogs killed one by one by lvl 1 king.

Wait till ppl change their base setup, hog raid will be impossible then.

I just accidentally attacked a mid to weak th10 and lost with about 30 percent from infernos and xbows plus the heroes. They are more of a helping troop.

Yes, this is the same thing I've been saying in every other thread crying that hogs are useless now. I've had an anti-hog base for quite some time now in regular and in war, and I've found even before the update if an inexperienced hogger attacks me and spams all his hogs at once in one spot then my double gb's will decimate his hogs when they reach them, but an experienced hogger is smart enough to send in only a few hogs to the spots where the gb's likely are placed to blow them before sending in the rest of his hog army. All they did was raise the damage of the gb's a bit, nothing has changed to the strategy: send in a few hogs to trigger the bombs just like sending in a few barbs around the outside of a base to check for traps, then once they're blown send in the rest of your hogs.

The change to the heroes is the same idea. I generally don't worry about the burger king thwarting my hog scheme as he often moves too slow to catch up with the hogs as they keep moving through the base, the only ral issue is with the AQ since she has a distance attack, but now with the update she'll only stay in her small radius instead of chasing them outside of it once she's been triggered.

Before people declare them dead without trying, maybe you should give it a go...

I am trying with alternate, TH9 account.

Having success. Two stars and three stars on TH9s.

Lure cc like normal. Deploying hogs(lvl4) in three groups, heal spells like normal. Im holding my heroes and remaining support a little longer. Once hogs have clearer 60%+ of the towers(often hogs are near gone), I deploy heroes and support into the base. BK tank, AQ punch with wizzies... they take out the heroes and grab the TH along with loot.

Sorry, can't do records. You will have to take my word for it. Ill try to post results screenshots maybe.
