I'd figure after enough time using everyone's designs and bases, I'd take the time to design my own. I've had quite a bit of success protecting my loot using this design so I'd figure to share it.
Note this design is somewhat an all or nothing design as the core is quite small. My clannies and I have been testing this for the past 3 weeks between gold 2 and master 2 and although most are snipes, there have been enough "real" attacks to finally warrant posting this. Although with the new update, I may rethink the positions of the giant bombs to perhaps have just one area. A lot of the inspiration of the design comes from Peabak's Ringus design, VinnyXO's WDM, Orz v1 Shuriken, Superwolf's Prime, Junliang's Pokeball design as well as many others that I've had a chance to try.
I started out with a 3X3 core but felt like this split up the outer layer of defences too much allowing easier access to the core so I kept a 2X2. All of the junctions are T junctions rather than X junctions forcing the many more wall breakers to get into the core.

Traps
Double bombs - The most common issue I had with double bombs was that hogs would destroy a defence and move onto the next one too quickly not allowing enough time to have both explode. The giant bombs are placed between a tesla/air defence forcing the hogs to spend more time there as they explode.
Spring Traps - All spring traps are placed between defences so they can't simply be triggered by just a single giant. Non-double bomb funnels have 2 each.
Seeking Air Mine - In gold leagues, I placed the seeking air mine between the archer tower and wizard tower aiming for the healer for giant/healer attacks. For Crystal 2 and up, I placed the seeking air mine on the other side of the archer tower requiring 3 balloons to get rid of it (rather than 2 that many send per archer tower).
Regular Air Mines - These have been placed closer to the core to target groups of minions . This does make the elixir storages a bit vulnerable to minions but if this is a concern, you can always move it to beside the elixir storage (beside the spring trap).
Defenses
CC - The CC is a bit lurable along the top, one of my clannies just closed out the top and bottom to aid in avoiding the easy lure.

Archer Towers - These are positions basically on all 4 corners of the base with 2 as the second layer of defence in the funnels.
Cannons - placed and used more as a tank allowing attacks from wizard towers and mortars.
Mortars - With only 3, I placed them on the right side of the base as I tend to get more attacks from that side. They have an army camp protecting them as well as flanked on both sides by an archer tower and tesla which does not make it easy to take down.

Wizard Towers - Each protects 2 storages as well as the funnel . With 2/3 defences in the immediate vicinity, barbarians and archers aren't much of a problem.

Xbows - set to air/ground. Since the core is small, I'm generally more worried about minions more than anything. They in addition cover all storages.

Teslas- These are strategically placed for multiple reasons. The first is to keep hoggers from being able to "test" the area with just 2-3 hogs. I've had countless trials of hoggers just sending in 2-3 having them all die out. The tesla also throws up balloonian players as it changes the direction of the baloons if they are aiming for the archer tower from the side. Beyond that, the extra defense forces the hogs to target both defences allowing giant bombs and small bombs to explode while the hogs are there. In addition, the tesla covers the entire wall to help protect vs wall breakers and stray units

Air Defences - These are placed to cover the core but also to act as a high HP defense. Since it is 2 spaces behind a wall, archers cannot target it directly over the wall.

Small Tidbits
Builder Huts - These are placed at the corner of each funnel just to absorb a few more archer shots to allow the defences to mow them down.
Collector/Mines - 3 placed around each archer tower as the highest HP allowing the archer tower to target those troops.
Spawn points - forced as far off while still being in range of defenses.
