Smaller tips for base building.
There are some tips i usually don't see covered by most guides because they are not as important as others, So i decided to collect a few together into one thread.
For instance-
- The centre of your base has a special marker, And scince your base is 40x40, Anything that takes up an equal amount of space will fit in the exact centre (For instance TH's are 4x4).
- Enemy players get more loot from bases with a higher TH level, Don't try to rush levels in order to get more resource and attacking buildings as you will be raided more often by enemy's at your league looking for high loot bases.
- Giants will always attack the closest tower to them, Path compartments in your base into less useful and/or higher health towers like cannons to give your stronger towers more time to take them down.
- Spring traps can insta kill up to 15 supply worth of units but have a very low area of effect, Funnel stronger enemies into the 1 block gap to get the most out of them.
- At silver league (Rarely) and above your opponents may start using lightning spells on your most vunerable buildings like mortars or air defences so keep them apart to minimize damage. You should also keep mortars apart as this means if one is under attack by a lot of tier one units, The other mortar can deal with them.
- Cover tower weaknesses with anothers by pairing them up, For instance mortars go well with air defences as they are both vunerable towers and both attack opposite unit types.
- 2 thick walls have the advantage of preventing archers from shooting anything behind them from the other side but bear in mind the wall breaker has an explosion radius of 2 tiles, So consider leaving a one tile gap between them to save on walls (You can also place traps in this gap!).
- Goblins can trigger traps without getting harmed by them due to their speed, Avoid making them to easy to trigger or grouping them up to get the most use out of them.
- Opposing units can walk through gaps in the corners of your walls and will usually try to break through a wall instead of walking a substantial distance around it, Esnure your corners are well protected and walls near more important structures are of higher priority than outer walls.
