Just because it's used doesn't mean its good. The pokeyball is played out and anybody can tell where trap and tesla placement is. Problem with bases that get used a lot is people Lear to raid them efficiently with minimal loss.
Pokeball at TH7 is quite bad. In my opinion Spiral Sanctuary and my Optimus base both work exceptionally well, but of course no TH7 base can't stand against a half-decent TH8 with lvl5 troops. The Mantis is very flexible so I'd use it if you have regular trophy pushes :)
