The Valkyrie Strategy Guide

I have been having a ton of success with VaGiWi (tehe) against th 9s, even maxed out ones. I have maxed troops for th 9.

I bring:

12 giants
12 valks
12 wizards
16 archers
2 jump
1 rage
1 heal

I use archers and maybe 1 valk to destroy cc troops if lureable. Drop a jump spell so that i can get into a few different compartments with defences. Drop all giants near the jump. Drop wizards to clear outside. Drop valks one at a time until i see them go towards the centre and then drop them all. Use the second jump to get into a few more compartments including core. Use rage once most valk are at the core. Use heal spell if i see my troops running out of steam. The heroes i drop last to help with clean up, using the new abilities to replenish health or break through a stubborn wall near the end.

As a previous poster mentioned, the valks do a nice job of getting in front of wizards, tanking for them.

The heal spell could be traded with lightning for cc troops or a second rage to wreak havoc

Add an attack log for GoViz and GoWiVa

I am finding that when its practical heal is extremely powerful with Valkyrie. Since your packing a large number of concentrated units you can heal through 1 inferno at a time fairly easily. GoViz was very reliable for getting the town hall and did very well picking up the 50%. Getting the units to the core was easy, it was making sure I did enough damage along the way I kept a few tricks in my bag that made the 50% difference. Its very durable and practical on most base types. Absolutely devastating on vault designs while raiding.


GoWiVa is a different animal if you plan to give it a go. The Witches allow you substitute out one Golem but its extremely important to keep splash damage occupied with your golems. Similar to when using Valkyrie and Jump, you want to create a pocket for your support units. Keeping them alive is critical to the win. If I can take out 2 mortars on my way to the core or take them out quickly with my Valkyrie this strategy devastated bases. When executed just right it broke into the core and kept going longer than GoViz. However, what bases I could attack was different. Attacking from the side of one inferno wasn't always doable due to mortar coverage. The worse was if that fire come into play just as you made your push into the core. However, if the base was right the skeletons kept the attention of the inferno beams and made using 2 heals more effective in general than a freeze spell. This was because their was not way those tentacles of death could keep everything at bay.

GoViz has an easier time getting to the core and ripping the core to pieces, but GoWiVa has more staying power once the core is taken down. GoWiVa in my opinion was harder to use, though rewarding when you executed it right.


Well my DE reserves were bled dry from GoWiVa so I'll be a while before I get to healer builds.

Defense aren't max, but the walls and heroes are scary...

FYI, I just upgraded to TH10..
Other than spell factory, all my troops upgrades and army camps are TH9

May do Hogs N' Valks sometime as I have found a few videos where this performs rather well.



EDIT: Thanks for sharing Zen. I find making sure you net 50% with Valkyrie strategies can be very important. They surge forward pretty easy but sometimes their just aren't enough buildings to pick up the 50%

A bit higher level heros and you would of gotten it!


I've been trying 5 witches out. Sometimes is very powerful and sometimes it falls flat. I believer its my spell timing as I tend to get nervous and spam my heal spells rather than wait for the perfect moment.

I still think that for Valkyries to be a viable troop their training time needs to be reduced. All these troop combinations would take at least 2 hours per army. Better or just as good troop combos can be constructed in less time. Am I wrong? Don't get me wrong, I like the Valkyrie unit but 15 minutes training time means that 12 valks take an hour and a half. I can have 12 dragons for that time period.

1) Valkyrie are not time efficient, I do not claim otherwise

2) I love dragons but struggle to 2 star bases that Valk/jump and GoVa combinations stomp for 2 easily.

I don't claim that Valks are better than PEKKA but if you watch the videos they are more than capable of being strong clan war troops

I am personally switching over to these combos for th10. At th9 I need more practice to net 3 stars

Im relatively confident of my GoWiVa as im about to use it for my clan war xD

2 Golems
8 Valks
12 Wizzies (5 more in cc)
12 Wallbreakers
4 Giants (They're to soak up the initial damage for me since my golems are a poopy stoopid weak level 1)

For my spells im using 3 rage 1 lightning as i have 12 wallbreakers so i dont need a jumpspell really

Minor updates

Last war we were in the opposing side used GoVaPe and GoVaWiWiiPe (or whatever you'd call it) quite effectively for 2 stars on our bases

I've continued using my strats on th10 bases. My spell deployment needs to improve as I tend to panic when the CC and Valks collide

Been finding lots of hogs and Valk videos - might try it :)
