You guys need to have a gem sale, every other similar game does all the time
Clash of clans is a free game and gems is the only way to make money.
You make a substantial revenue off this game as is, please don't forget to give back to the loyal customers!
Definitely! A gem sale would be great! Possibly once a month or during holiday events such as Easter or Christmas?
They hand out other stuff on special occasions, not gems. CoC is (sometimes even sadly) an individual that doesn't follow others' lead
Yes a gem sale! It should probably be once a month for a couple of days and special sales which are longer in easter or christmas
Also some games need things similar to gem sales so they make money the thing about clash is people are constantly spending money so they dont need gem sales.
They will make more money if they have a sale like once a year cuz it costs 0$ for them to make gems and more ppl will buy them during same
personally i like special deals more as in 1 gem boosts
Premium Currency sales is usually a sign of desperation by a gaming company to boost revenue dollars. To give 10% more of this premium currency to drive up sales is better than maintaining stagnant sales figures.
Clash of Clans is still a top rated game with significant revenue growth.
The day they start having frequent gem sales is a sign that their revenue is floundering and we are within the downfall of their position at the top tier of the Mobile Gaming Empire...
With the exception being holiday specials. If you see them giving discounts on a non-holiday, there's something wrong.
Sales costs money due to loss of revenue dollars. Every dollar given away is a dollar in the loss column. As someone that manages the P&L (Profit and Loss) statement at the company I'm with, I know that sales dollars given away are calculated into the net loss in whatever category they set it in. It's not a simple flip of a switch to offer discounts, there's accounting repercussions for giving sales discounts that still have to be tracked - especially if the company is accountable to share holders and investors.
I think sometimes many gamers forget that Supercell is a business....
I can't agree more this game has to start giving. Out some specials an this guy saying they give a good amount of free gems ♥♥♥♥♥ plz. In upgrade cost 500 gems good luck with the gem boxes lol
Their entire business model is based on having two types of gamers: Patient and Impatient ones.
Patient ones will play for free and save up gems.
Impatient ones will pay for the gems and get things NOW.
So if you are impatient, pull out that Visa card. You are who they are after for their revenue. Me, I'm patient though I have spent a few dollars to show my support - mostly for additional builders.
I suppose there is a 3rd category. Impatient players that complain about the lack of gems but won't pay for it like all the other normal, impatient players out there.
Are you old enough to have had a job yet?
Are you old enough to have had a job where you are within a management position that requires you to have an intimate relationship between the company's profit and loss?
This is not meant to be an insult to you or to your age, but the naivete of your statement that a company is required to give back at random and at your command is laughable.
Like I said, giving discounts isn't as simple as well.... giving a discount. There's entire accounting principles required as I'm sure Supercell has a real accounting department and isn't ran by some kid in some basement in Finland. Every dollar they give away is accounted for and reported to investors and shareholders. Not every dollar they revenue is kept within the company, I doubt very much of the remaining profit is kept with Supercell beyond what's needed for operating expenses.
let me emphasis, I am not against free gems and promotions.
I enjoy the 1 gem boosts on holidays, but that's what they are - specials for holidays. A sign of going down hill is sales outside of holiday specials. A strong company does not discount when they don't have to - with the exceptions of holiday specials.
I agree that I'm impatient an there for I spent a good amount of money they might make more money in special then normal. Why do u think there's black Friday an people go nuts it's the feeling of saving money while doing what u like. Wheres a sc mod they need too speak up.
ok what I'm saying is, let's say they have a Black Friday sale. On a normal day lets say 200 ppl buy gems, on Black Friday it's safe to say that 400 ppl will buy gems. On a 20% sale they will get 80% revenue then on a normal day 400*.80= 320 so they got 120 more gem buyers on profits
We can debate and crunch numbers all day long. Without access to Supercells YTD P&L statement and their 2013 statement for comparative, we don't know what their overall revenue vs profit it. Nor is it really any of our business unless you hold shares in their company.
We can theorize all day to justify why a sales discount is beneficial for a company. I'll tell you right now, at my company, if we don't have to offer a discount, we won't. Most business won't unless they have to in order to drive stagnant sales. Holidays are an exception to the rule. Many business tend to see stagnant sales in the winter months which is why there's so much drive for consumerism during these winter months. We can theorize that by giving a 20% sale that their sales revenue will increase by 10,000%.
But what they do know is what is working historically - as in how they are doing YTD and how they did in 2013. They did fantastic last year, with revenues upwards of $2.5 million a day. You can theorize that by dropping 20% in the sales number that they can make $5 million a day due to more people buying! Or those that used to be big spenders are buying less because they get more....
So should they trust you (Gamers in general), who's ulterior motive is to get more gems for less money, or their historical sales data?
Why fix something that isn't broken?
SC has no reason to lower gem prices. They aren't doing too bad in case you didn't know
Just nooo....
I agree. I've never bought gem but think they should go on sale because I would. The revenue coming in is huge and supercell should give back to the people in more ways!
Yes am old enough to have a job I work for the The Ritz Carlton it's a billion dollar company. Who actually gives back to there costumers. They actually have expenses SC is all profit just hearing u guys say no is upsetting bcs this game dosent give a sht about u all they want is money a discount won't hurt them at all I'm 100% sure. One example is my boss has giving free night at the 7500$ a night suits just to make the customer happy don't tell me this can't be done
You pay for the use of the hotels, upwards of $7500 as you've described. That customer he comped a night for probably had stayed there for multiple days rather than just that one night. So a customer who paid upwards of $53,000 for a week stay, not to include any tips and other additional charges this person incurred, something must have gone wrong to be comped a full night at that rate. Forgot to change the sheets?
"Mr. Anderson, you are such a swell guy and the sun in shining just right, I'm going to give you $7,500 for no other reason but that I enjoy your smile" said no responsible manager, ever.
This is a free to play mobile game, which is free for millions of users across the world.
Apples and oranges my friend.
That's my point if they get appreciated why the hell not us the hotels revenue was 146mil profit 26 mil they were happy as hell sc dosent spent no were near that to keep coc running so stop with your bll sht an bring sc to tell me they will loose money so I can laugh in there face SC is all profit or what hey SC gift wrap me the gems 5dlrs it wrap paper ♥♥♥♥♥
They have to pay for servers and they have to pay for SC staff who patch the game and make sure its balanced. They do all this through the sell of gems. It's there only revenue source in the game. The only other way for them to make money would be to add in ads. I would rather them never put gems on sale then have to look at ads all the time while playing.
S/C show your face an say why can't there be a sale explain this to your costumers
Other games also advertise thier gems sales constantly . . . . its rather annoying.
Other games also have content in there games that can only be bought with gems . . . . . rather anoying.
I am fine with not having any gem sales, this way they wont intruduce any other tactics to get people to spend $$$.
Can i ask the other games that do have sales, do they also have gamble items? For example sepend gems to win some random prize. This game doesnt do that, and to be honest any complany that does that is extremely greedy.
Be happy Supercell isnt ultra greedy, they just know how to make $$$. They arent shoving GEM adds in your face every few hours.
The game instead of giving out free gems should give achievements.
The achivement would be given say with 48 hours of online time and
could stretch to 1000 gems for 2 months online time
One day I went on the gem store and I found out that the lowest price is $5.00!I went on another game and the lowest price is 0.99!!!!I mean five dollars and 0.99 is a big difference.Plz WE NEED A SALE
I can agree with 1 dollar packs wen sometimes people are broke but we're is the mods to say there opinion
There's a lot of competition in phones, an industry that historical offer phones FREE for service contracts.
Again, apples and oranges....
And while there's definitely competition in mobile gaming, COC currently stands a titan in the arena and their numbers show it.
Based on how the gaming industries works, because you can't compare sales from companies on good Fridays for 50" televisions in winter, when a gaming company's profits begin to tank, they tend to start putting premium currencies on sale. If you've paid attention to the rise and fall of free to pay games with premium currencies, when they start discounting on none-holiday events or on odd schedules, it foreshadows the company's future.
I'd rather not get those ques from the company that runs a great game that I enjoy playing.
