So I have been on th8 for a while I'm getting pretty close to max. So I'd like an opinion not "do whatever" kind of thing. Here is my upgrades....
5x cannons lv10
5x archer towers lv9
3x Wizard towers lv6
3x air defense lv6
3x mortar lv6
Clan castle lv4
3x tesla lv5
Barb king lv5
43 skull walls
182 purple walls
Looks good to me. I did it around the same time as you.
The question isn't so much whether your defenses/walls/etc. are maxed for TH8, if they are, then great you're doing good. The main thing to consider when asking whether you're ready to upgrade to the next TH level is the level of your troops. If most of your troops, mainly barb/arch/giant/wizard/heal/lightning/rage are maxed for your TH level, then go ahead and move up to the next TH level. You get a considerable offensive boost when you move up to TH9 from TH8 in that you can upgrade your camps and get 20 more camp space for your army, and you can upgrade your spell factory for a fouth spell and your lab for higher troop upgrades. Personally, I upgraded to TH9 when my defenses were still mostly around lvl 7-9 for point defenses and mortars 5 and wiz towers 4 and lvl 6 walls, upgraded to TH9, got my fourth tesla and two xbows, another DE drill, and now I'm in the process of maxing my dark drills and dark barracks along with finsihing my camps and then I'll go back to upgrading my defenses again. It's worked out fine for me as now I can attack stronger bases with more/stronger troops. You can always catch your defenses up when you get the chance after your offensive stuff is done.
My suggestion for you is to max TH 8 - at least the defense. It'll pay off big time.Quote:

You'll be fine if you upgrade. I guess that the more important thing is that your troops (excluding Valks, Golems, and Hogs) are maxed, then go ahead.
All my elixir troops maxed my minions lv 3 and I never use hogs I like the ballooning. Now my spells are not maxed should I do those they are one level below.
