What should I focus on upgrading before TH9?
Mortars, Wizard towers, air defense, and get at least 50% level 8 walls
Just max out the town hall that's what I always do.

Definitely walls. And all defenses.
And everything else before moving up. You're not ready at all.
Maxing out TH7 completely isn't that important, but you should max out TH8.
You haven't even a fully maxed TH5, lol (referring to walls).
At TH8 you can still recover from being a Premmie, just grind it out.
Uhmm... I definitely think you should upgrade EVERYTHING by at least one level. Except for walls, you gotta have them at least all level 7 before town hall 9. Ideally, your air defences should be level 6 too.
