Don't be fooled. Level 1 hogs are still effective at TH8.

I see people complaining 24/7 about how hogs level 1 suck and how hog suck now because of the giant bomb update coming soon...but seriously if you use them correctly..IT DOESNT MATTER! Check this out...

I agree. With Hogs, it's usually all about placement. I sometimes run with L1 Hogs in CW and I usually three star other TH 8's and even some early TH 9s. The trick is about placing Hogs in the right spots and also being experienced enough to scout out where the Giant Bombs are.

I'm not sure how they'll do in the next update, but we'll see. :)

reality is level 1 hogs are weak and can be wrecked by a proper base without ITs @ multi. The sad truth as well is that hogs are imbalanced, as a dual gaint bomb cannot 1 shot a level 4 or 5 pack which completely exposes TH8's and 9's.

At TH8 you get a maxes of 3 giant bombs so the spot were where a double GB might be hidden should be pretty obvious if you take your time which is what the video explains. Hog funnelling isnt that effective at TH8.

I think hogs are very powerful even at TH8. Like you said, its all about placement.

lower lvl hogs are fine. I have clanmates that 3 star people every war with lvl 1 and lvl 2 hogs.

lvl 5 loons are also fine for attacking th8's. and lvl 4's for th7's.

pekkas work at all lvl's.

troops do not have to be maxed to be effective. it does make them better, but they are never useless.

They are only powerful when deployed right. Got a good th8 farming base here.

Agreed. lvl 1 and 2 hogs are great.... against town hall 7s and weak town hall 8s. As above^ need lvl 4 or 5 hogs to consistently 100% strong town hall 9s. lvl 3 is kind of the grey area, where it could go either way.

I always tell my members not to use hogs until they're at LEAST lvl 3. At town hall 8, a full dragon attack is the best you can get.

I have beat a th 9 with level 1 hogs (without x-bows) so you're right as everyone else said

Thats not true. It depends on the base set up. Id say lvl 2 hogs and mass drags are about similar power but it depends on how the base you'r attacking is arranged.

loving my lvl 1 hogs right now for clan wars. I'm a pretty new town hall lvl 8 and finally have enough DE to use them effectively. I like pairing 20-30 of them with a dragon or two and some archers

Yes, that's is a low level TH8, which when compared to wars I've gone against, would be in the high 20's out of 40 players. Easy to hog, he didnt have any of his giant bombs inside his walls. That's the biggest base design mistake - having giant bombs outside of the walls where it's a ♥♥♥♥ shoot whether or not someone will trigger it much less the hogs triggering it.

Lastly, the level 1 hogs were effective because you used 3 healer spells bringing their HP more aligned to a level 3 hog - technically speaking.

Yeah but most people that I see do hogs regardless of the level usually accompanies them with healing spells.
