to max walls at th8 or not to max

I have fully upgraded, or upgrading, defenses, a couple of upgrades left at the lab, and 215 purple crystal walls and 10 skull walls.

Does anyone have a good case for upgrading or not upgrading to th9? Get an AQ, second DE drill, 4th air D and some more junk in general. Then on the flipside, raiding TH7s will become pretty useless. Im a perma-farmer, but it'll be months to upgrade all the walls, and my base seems to be about as good as TH8 bases get, so there's no fun there.

IMHO, others' comments on this are, well, useless --- you seem to have answered your own Q. If you're not having fun, go up.

I'm an 8 but I have fun 'grinding' for walls.

I would go up probably. I'm th 6 with maybe 20% skulls and the rest purple. Once I get all my defensive buildings up I will move!

since in the new update troops will work together to destroy a wall, i think it will be pretty important to do, i'm in same position as you, what i recommend is do a push to masters 3-1 and do walls while pushing, u need it to search only, so spend it, during my push i got 35 walls up and yet in C1 only

In your case, I think you have to go ahead and upgrade to th9. Ideally you should have been doing them along the way, but it seems silly to me to sit around for a month or more with inactive builders when you already have level 7 walls. I'd grind out as many level 8 walls as you can during the upgrade though.

The first thing I did at th8 was upgrade all the new walls to purple, since then my builders have mostly been working nonstop. I have 32k DE and 2 mil E, I might stick around to upgrade hogs and pekkas, even though pekkas aren't really useful.

Lets see... wall breakrs don't really care about wall strength because people drop like 10 of them anyway. Giants are pretty easily held back by some funneling and purple walls, drags don't care, balloons don't care, hogs don't care.

I guess it just seems like a low quality investment for the time, I'll probably make the jump. I don't think I've ever been 2+ starred in clan wars except by massed hogs, and massed hogs are just an absolute trump card that don't care about walls at all, or anything really.

Not that hard. Actually it's easier than expected. There are days when you'll quit and hopefully not angry enough to throw your phone.

I always get loot late at night. Like I'll struggle all day, so forget the game ,then all of a sudden at 10 or 11 I'll get 4 straight 500k raids. Must be when everybody goes to bed.

Im at the same point as you are and its a tough choice but i thought in that long week or so that my townhall is upgrading to 9 i will have nothing else to upgrade with my builders since everything is maxed so i though I would just get as much gold as I could while it was upgrading to work on my walls seems simple to me what do you think hope this helps

It really dosnt take THAT long to get the lvl 8 walls. you can bang them out in a month if you really go for it and a month and a half if you play my deffinition of casual id say. Id personally do them but thats just me. I actually think doing walls is the funnest part of a th lvl. you get to use you'r base you worked so hard to build up. Though in my case i had 75% of them done by the time my deffenses were done.

and btw, you will have a much harder time on deffense at th9 then th8. atleast until you get all you'r stuff upgraded wich will take quite awhile. when you hit th9 you suddenly start getting hit by big boy attacks much more often.

Its 100 million gold. Thats 50-100 days of normal play.

I refuse to gem walls.

In 100 days I could have 4 upgraded wiz towers, an AQ with the ability, some X-bows, a 4th AD all maxed up, and a new base design.

I'm leaning towards making the jump

Giants/healers, look for bases that have exposed AD's. Or if my trophies get to high I swap to gobs/archers and try to raid storages.

And honestly i've never even got close to 10 mil, my best single raid is about 800k combined. My best day can't possibly be more than 4-5 mil

I broke. Halfway point on skull upgrades this week and it feels great. I'm waiting and having this many skull walls is amazing.

well at 500k a pop 5 mil a day is 10 walls a day. thats perfectly fine.

For straight up gold farming id suggest BAM or BARCH farming. much faster build times and you get about the same loot per attack, just hit different kinds of bases. BAM is the best by far for gold.

cool thanks i;ll give it a try i guess, never really farmed with minions, they are sort of just my back up plan if all else blows up.

I have a maxed TH8 (aside from one AT currently upgrading) and I'm sticking around to do walls. Game's not a race after all! I find great satisfaction in maxing my town halls! To me, it feels like I'm playing the game right, although screw getting full lava walls before going to TH10...

I finish my skull walls about a week ago. It took me about two and half weeks (I boost my barracks every other night.) I just got to TH 9 about two days ago. I got my 25 new walls to pink on the first night. I'm planning on finishing them up within the next two weeks.

I will work on some leggo walls next month, maybe lava up my core.
