Intimidation.
Harder to Barch.
Intimidation.
Best thing about xbow is its range, 2nd best thing is its fire rate.
Put those two things together, and it quickly tears troops apart. Just keep them in range of your splash towers and you are golden.
Think about it. Xbows have the fastest fire rate along with inferno towers. If you have an Xbow level 3, it does 75 damage per second, so it pretty much takes about 0.7 seconds for a level 3 xbow to destroy a level 6 archer. That's faster than cannons, archer towers, mortars, and wizard towers. Teslas are the only ones that compete. But considering how xbows have a large range and they can attack air troops, they are ideal anti infantry defense, and they do work.
one word/phrase: killing wallbreakers- best are xbows and high level teslas but xbows have bigger range and look cool at lv. 3(I have two of those beasts)
Any new structure is worth building, regardless of how much damage it does (more HP on your base, harder 50%).
Is it worth upgrading over other defenses? Better question. I think wizard towers are the top priority at TH9, and after that I would focus on xbows. A level 1 xbow isn't much, but a level 3 really starts to help.
A grounded Xbow has 14 range. With proper layout a grounded level 1 Xbow can hit anything on the map with 50 DPS. Considering you have that 2 cannons with 65 DPS on the corners, that's almost 40% DPS upgrade.
range and when it is upgraded it does good damage also. keep it set to ground and it will do serious damage on every attack that hits you. not getting them asap is very dumb.
it has gotten to the point they are now underated on this forum. people talk like they suck. they are a very good deffensive structure.
they also have a ton of hitpoints.
agree. Set up your air defenses well so you can leave them on ground, keeping their excellent range where they are most effective. Also, the hit points is something that isn't talked enough about; they have over 3 times the HP of an archer tower! Get them built and upgraded early
So after I read this post , i understand now :) i will then do the xbow once I finish elixir stuff
If anyone says Xbows are bad... I have nothing to say...
They obliterate BARCH faster than the other guy's fingers can lay them down.
All farmers love wimp th9s without xbows, period.
Q: How many separate gold storages can protect a wizard tower? A: 1.
Q: What about an X-bow? All 4 in ground mode and 2 or 3 in ground & air mode, depending on the placements.
The X-bow kill giants and hogs even with the heal spell on them because of the fast rate of fire.
I think it's much better than a mortar against barch because the mortar has to be very lucky to hit anything. By the time the shell touch the ground, the troops had already changed theyr position. With the x-bow that won't happen, they take big numbers of barch in no time.
I have to disagree. Let me explain.
- A premmie with level 5 walls - level 5 walls have 1,400 HP.
- A semi-casual with level 7 walls - level 7 walls have 2,500 HP.
- A hardcore farmer with level 9 walls - level 7 walls have 4,000 HP.
- A gemmer with level 11 walls - level 11 walls have 7,000 HP.
Only 1,100 HP between 1 and 2 but if you have 10 compartment that's 11,000 HP! And that's 56,000 HP from 1 to 4! A level 5 wizard with 170 DPS needs 411 seconds just to breach every compartment in the 4th base - under fire from multiple defenses.
If you add the numbers enough you will reach the point of near impossibility of breaching a base.
