Most trophy bases protect trophies,not resources.I suggest you search for a hybrid base and keep TH inside to not lose trophies,but I guess that if you have TH inside you usually get your resources raided.I would suggest a farming base,but it is your choice.
as soon as get in a trophy region where TH9 and TH10 dominate, you will be stree starred anyways.
best bet for a trophy pushing TH8 is to put the TH in a corner and hope for a sniper.
