Is the game still fun after max out?

Granted, I still have a long way to go with even maxing out a TH8 base but I'm just curious after looking at some of the top players. I know updates come out releasing new things every now and then, but is the game even fun after that? I'll be curious to see the implementation of the "leagues" and how it counters this, but still, even when you max out, you don't have anything to spend the resources on. I think this is why the "clan vs. clan" battle idea would go a long way in increasing the total time this game is worthwhile. Thoughts, concerns, questions?

The only way you will max out your base is if your spend thousand of dollars on the game. Which if you do you will probably try to be the next Yao.

its the best thing if you have a maxxed out base you know why? you can finnaly stop playing clash of clans for 2-3 weeks take a break ;);)

by max out i assume you mean by the none gemmer way.
that by itself will take a long time but yea lets assume we reached the end.

-farm de and max out heroes(sad that max lv for bk at th8 is only lv10..)
-trophy hunt once the new system is implemented..
-farm more gold for lv7 tesla..

but yeah, the main point is that new stuff gets added to the game on a monthly basis.
so lets hope SC can keep up the fresh update to prolong the gameplay.

Will take awhile for us to max out for none gemmers.

I often wonder that myself. The top guys dont even get a chance to play with the new troops because they are too scared to lose trophies while experimenting. Most of them just do all dragon attacks. That seems pretty boring because their is no strategy involved in all dragon attacks.

Any way it is impossible for a non gemmer to ever max out.

Nope not at all. im a maxed player (walls and everything ) im in north 44 .
im 3200+ and the games too boring but was it not for helping in other 44 clans and clan chats along with the new updates coming each month or so i would have quit the game . But its one awesome game for sure and thank you supercell for creating this.:D

Actually, maxing out your base means you can finally begin playing the game :D

Hmm, I'm not completely maxed out on my main, but below are my views.

As reference, I finished all of my gold upgrades for defensive buildings (tesla, mortar, arch tower, etc), except for walls. And, my troops and spells are all maxed except for DE troops. So, I do see the end of this road.

1. Now that the defensive buildings are all done, I'm gone back to grinding out the remaining walls. Most know this already but it takes two L5 gobs to bust thru either a purple L7 wall or a black L8 wall. It's at L9 that 3 L5 gobs are required, so, many tactical farmers choose to max defenses before finishing up walls... Long winded way of saying, there's always more and more walls, particularly those darn L10 walls...

2. Many choose to create a 2nd alt on another iDevice to play around while the long upgrades take place on a main alt

3. Clan chats and the social aspect keep the game going for many of us

4. And most are still upgrading the DE troops, more for the option just in case they become useful later on...

But, yes, to the spirit of your question, I've been concerned about the end of this road for weeks-to-months. A bit demoralizing to see "Z's..." floating from your builder huts... But, the game goes on, and it seems the speed of updates is accelerating...

Trophy leagues? Hmmm...

On topic, if you max out your base it wouldn't be much fun other then to go for trophies.. But I'm a far ways from maxing out.
