I used to eat bases with 8 dragons and the rest archers and barbs. That was back in TH 7. Now I'm TH 8 and my drags are lvl 3 and I've been mostly one starring bases. Tips for dragon based army comp/strategy? Spells? Any help appreciated, I want to find a good high level army to cook overnight that doesn't use DE for times when I'm saving for a specific upgrade
i find that a half/half combination of rage and heals works splendidly with an all dragon army. i use the rages when the dragons are bunched in a group/groups near air defences and use heals when decent troops pour out of clan castle or when air defences are trying to shoot them down. Then its just a matter mopping up. Also a giant/wb/archer/4 drag composition is really effective as well.
It's all about choosing the right opponent...just like hogs aren't that successful against anti-hog bases, dragons aren't great for every base.
You need to understand air defence layout and air defence levels. If all 3 or 4 air defences are centralized, skip it. If 2 are easily accessible and 1 is centralized, lightning the central one and swarm the side of the other 2. Rages are harder to use because timing is everything and dragons sometimes have the tendancy to fly around the base.
You may also target bases with upgrading air defences.
