Level 6 Balloon or Level 6 Giant

I am a new th 9 and my lab is being upgraded to lvl 7. I havent decided what to upgrade first but it will for certain between Giant or Loons because these troops gain the most improvement from any other troop. I currently use barch but will change my strat soon.
Giant : good for farming, fast to train, a bit cheaper, not very good in clan war
Balloon : good for both farming amd war, a bit more expensive, long training time, need skill
Here is my current army level
- hogs, valkyrie lvl 1
- dragon, healer lvl 2
- minion lvl 3
- goblin, wizard lvl 4
- archer, barbarian , giant, wallbreaker, balloon lvl 5
What do you guys( or girls) think is better ? :)

Personally, I would go with ballons, because of the Bloonion strategy, and your minions are already level three (would suggest you get them upgraded for Bloonion sooner or later though).

Hmm, giants... if you use Giant-Healer, or you farm with Barch where giants act as meat shield, go with 'em.

In the end, it all comes down to which troop you're using most of time (or plan on using very often).

P.S: Bloonion is good for gold and DE farming in higher leagues - takes some time to cook and practice, but usually gets you the DE and gold ;)

And after all, you gotta upgrade all those troops to max anyways, so doesn't matter with which you start :p

It will depend on your usual and comfortable attack strategy.

The time I reached Th 9, i upgraded the giants right away since i go on farming most of the time.

As already said, it depends on what you use and comfortable with. On my main acc i did Giants first and balloons much later. Since i did not know how to loon back then.
On mini i did; barbs - Balloons - Minions - Archers (Giants still pending).

Mini-Loons are great for push and lazy farming
BAWG-Gobs with Lvl 6 Giants are great for DE hunting

Why don't you have wizards up to 5 yet? Seems a few other upgrades are behind that would normally be higher also.


Of these two I would do Giants then Loons.

his actually asking which is better.most th8 never farm with balloons and when you get to th9 you are introduced to balloons which complicates things because you never used balloons but have seen clanmates destroy bases with them.12 level 6 giants are good in wrecking th8 but not th9 .im upgrade to th9 also but here is my take on the two
advantages of giants
1 you already know how to use them .
2 the are cheaper than balloons.
3 less training time.
4 you wont have to use minions(save de)
5 you can hit most bases in gold leagues and making less nexts
6 you dont have to worry about elixir breakeven

balloon advantages(remember i dont have level 6 balloons yet)

1 take on tougher bases
2 good for war
3 they fly(cannons,mortar and walls become irrelevant )
4 high trophy farming/de farming for effective than with giants
5 fun for showing off when you share videos with clanmates;)

where will you farm?

if on gold league, then Giants is more effective
if on cyrstal and above, then go Balloon

Both armies are very effective.

To me, it makes more sense to get the level 6 giant, use it for farming, and get the rest of lab upgraded.

Decent giant/healer army will cost you well below 40,000.

Loons > 100,000.

If you do giant healer with level 6 giants, you'll be able to get loons a lot faster than if you did level 6 loons and used a loonioan armry.

Alright , since almost all people in this thread vote giant lvl 6, then I will upgrade it first :) and then after that I will do the loons

Loons are more fun, but more expensive.

I have more success on huge raids with loons then dopey giants.
