Advanced Battle Controls

Greetings all,

Perhaps there should be battle controls to be setup prior to attacking. For example, would I prefer my archers to keep max distance from structure, or mid-range, or close range combat? In addition, the warriors could become more intelligent by telling them to stick together the entire time, split forces and/or make 2 groups. Currently, I find the randomness in the behavior of the army absolutely ridiculous most of the time , so perhaps this will help.
Finally, one of the controls could allow one to set a unit up that prioritizes attacking enemy reinforcements. I discovered that frequently the army will walk by enemy reinforcement troops whilst taking extreme damage. Would be nice to see my army stop to fight back.

I'm not sure how I fell about this, since I know exactly where you are coming from, I can not tell you how many times I have gotten 49% because my troops ignored the clan castle troops until it was to late. So from an attackers standpoint I love the concept of being able to control you troops more easily. But when I look from the standpoint of myself as a defender I know that I count on the unreliability of my opponents troops to make sure that my defense holds. Also one problem that this would hold is that there would be not be a purpose for any type of base designed to trick the opponent since if the troops could be controlled then they wouldn't fall for the traps, unless they were being manned by an idiot. So in one sense I embrace the Idea, yet at the same time I am reluctant to even consider something that makes my defense so weak. I am not sure. It would be an interesting thing to see but since defending is hard enough I fear it would make attacks to easy, so even though I might want this on offense I would dread to face this while defending.

Attacking is already too strong. Adding controlled AI will make it even easier to get that extra star. I feel like bad AI is what keeps people from getting pillaged every single raid.

I have to agree.

yah from a offensive point this would make so much more sense but as said above the traps would be pretty much useless. Also most of the troops have targets other than a few and all you have to do is place them correctly and youll be fine. but good try on suggestion.

You make some really good points. However, we haven't explored the possibility of defensive controls that could bring balance. Defense could be set to attack minimum or maximum durability, minimum or maximum groups, nearest target, furthest target, gold & elixer storages(target enemies near by), prioritize saving the town hall.
