Idiot visitors

So the visitors like Greg, et al, come to the farm and ask for things. They seem to frequently ask for things you have the most of.

This gets annoying. I use Tom to stock up on shovels, saws and axes. Now, for weeks, many of the visitors ask for them. Who sells 32 axes to a visitor? or 48 saws? or 27 shovels? One of these times I just know I am going to accidentally hit yes and then scream!

Seriously, I cannot see anyone doing that. You don't want those items? You'll get a lot more for them in the RSS. Or trade them away.

It's like Greg comes over and says "Hey, I see you just bought a big pile of saws. Can I buy some for you at a price far less than they are worth? No? Ok." Then 10 minutes later he comes back and asks again, oblivious to having already been turned down a dozen times. Then someone else asks. Then another. Like a bunch of moochers.

There are some things they should not be asking for. Add saws, axes, shovels to the list of things they wont ask for.

I agree with this. I turn those visitors away, but the "No" button is right under the "Yes" and even on iPad, the buttons are relatively small, especially being so close together so I dread a misclick one day. So I'd like it if axes, shovels, etc could be added to the list of things they wont ask for.


Random thing on my farm though is that the lady with the umbrella (I call her Mary Poppins) is always the one asking for shovels and saws more than any of the other visitor. I think the sweet looking nanny may be up to something sinister... XD

So agree, if there was an option to turn off them asking for any hardware,

I have 2 visitors that practically live on my front porch I never sell items to visitors its kind of pointless unless your striving to complete the Sell Goods To Visitors achievement they pay half price for items and give small amount of experience points I only sell them wheat because its easy to find a farmer that sells nothing but rows of 10 wheats for 1 gold thats the most logical way to take advantage of the visitors

I sell to visitors when they ask for crops from the field. They are easy and free to grow. Yes, you can get more for them by selling in the RSS, but like you say, it counts toward the achievement.

Since wheat is hard to sell above default price (10c for 10 wheat), and they give you more than that, I often use visitors to unload after a wheating session.

Otherwise, I only sell other things to them during the 2x bonus weekends that occur once every few months.

Hahaha.. I also get irritated. They just show up again and again. And the mere sight of them... I just try to press no thank. Button as fast as I possibly can. But it happens i press the wrong button. :-(

How sad that you are abusing Tilly and the gang. They can be very useful - they warn you when you are out of stock of an item, they buy your excess eggs that would take forever to sell in the DD, you can make good coins from them on-selling cheap wheat and bread made from cheap wheat, and apart from Tilly and her tantrums, are very polite and so pleased when you sell them something. If you take careful note, they can even give clues as to what your next boat will want. Embrace them as an integral part of your farm management plan and make them work for you, rather than just slagging them.

I never sell to them except the occasions when they pay double price.
And I wonder sometimes what they are up to.
This silly girl with the polka dotted skirt who is doing the shopping for her grandma is permanently asking for dynamite or TNT, who knows what her grandma wants to do with that......??

I think these visitors are just like a plague, as soon as you have turn one down the next one stands right there at your doorstep.
I haven't bought a dog yet, because I am a cat person but I would do, if he would be chasing them down the alley.

My neighbours sell their overproduction to them, but I don't have any.

I was thinking about a chain as well which you could put up on the entrance of the main road, but this might be in the way for the truck.
But it would be absolutely great if there was an option to install a sign. NO SALE HERE.
So everybody could chose if he wants to sell to the visitors or not.

I only sell to them to get the achievements or when they pay double. Other than that I try to take my time in tapping the "no" button, for I have had too many incidents where I accidentally sell something I need for a price that is way under what it could go for in the roadside shop. I think it would be nice if they had options for what they sell, or you could come up with a list for what they want from you. Ex: you have tons of carrots and corn. You could tell the visitors only to request carrots and corn. I dunno. Just know that I hate them too.
