The urgent need to stop hoppers in clans

Guys, I think this game is awesome, but something is killing the game, it is clan hoppers, it feels like i am putting my energy into so much recruiting, and no matter what we do as a clan, we lose them daily, it feels pointless and not worthwhile. I am getting very frustrated with these hoppers.

Now it was suggested that supercell was working on a plan to stop this, however i see no such action here.

so may I recommend the following.

1. when you join a clan, you are in for two weeks until the next reset.
2 in your profile every player has a clan history of all the clans players have been in, this way we know to avoid a hopper
3. Player feedback (however this could be a minefield, so I'm not sure about this)

we we recently had an event where a player just joined our clan and begged for elder, so mistakenly we gave it to him, he then proceeded to kick people of our clan and then leave, getting these members back was a task, we lost 4 off them due to this issue, he laughed called us gay and left.

yesterday I managed to recruit 9 people yesterday, today i have 3 left of the nine i recruited yesterday.

i want to play in my clan, not continually recruit people. This needs your urgent attention.

I like your 2nd idea best, although I think it has been proposed before.

The main thing that it problematic with the 1st idea is that I can no longer visit clans- I have to stay there until I can leave. It is unfair on the person joining the clan: they may not enjoy being in the clan, and it would therefore be more beneficial for them to leave to join a clan better suited for them.

As for player feedback, can you elaborate on that? (ie where would it go, what would go on it etc)

Idea number 1. Should be 30 minutes..

Can I suggest another option?
How about if you leave a clan you cannot rejoin that clan unless a leader or co-leader tells the system that the user can join the clan again. I think programming wise this is easy to implement as it could be a boolean value with relationship to user and clan.

What I am suggesting is that if you leave a clan you automatically toggle to a status that kinda puts you into an unwanted mode untill a (co)leader toggles you back to wanted status. This toggle could be used not just for this purpose, it could also be set to unwanted if a user is kicked.

This would solve the two issues with clanmembers most oftenly listed here in the forum.

I don't really see the problem here when you donate to someone you gain experience so the "hoppers" are helping you level up, if you are not interested in exp it's simple - do not donate to new members until they have donated. Either way I don't think "hoppers" are killing clash of clans

Keeping 6 out of 9 is pretty good going to be fair.

giving elder to someone new is stupid - SC cant provide any sort of update for that.

Im assuming that you're recruiting in Global rather than posting a thread on here?

Maybe rather than having controls which locks people into your clan you could look into reason why they would leave in the first place. For example this is not an exhaustive list by the way:

• Is there much chatter in the clan chatroom? (if there is, is there any swearing or content that could be considered inappropriate? Are you new recruits able to communicate in the language which is being used? Is your clan full of adults or children and the chat room content reflects this?)
• Do you welcome your new recruits?
• Are there people in your clan that actively tries to engage new recruits?
• Are there many requests for donations that are not being filled? Or filled fast enough?
• What level troops does your clan members donate?
• Are there people in your clan donating the wrong troops?
• What level players are your members?
• Have you asked your new recruit what is they want? Or how they want to play the game? (for example maybe your clan loves to war/trophy push/farm but your new recruit doesn't)

But the point I guess I am trying to make, is sometimes people leave because the clan that they joined is just not what they wanted, and sometimes people join clans to just cause problems, chances are you wouldn't want to retain them anyway. Figure out why people keep leaving your clan in the first place and see if there is a way to fix it.

Idea 1 is bad - I don't want people in my clan who don't want to be there. I also want to be able to visit my feeder clans.

Idea 2 is great. A lot of people "hop" but really they're just visiting a frinds clan. That's different than hoppers looking for free donations.

Idea 3... some kind of feedback sould be good... like player commendations or something


Recruiting is hard. Retaining people is harder. Honestly, I don't want to keep hoppers anyway. We get a lot of players who expect never ending activity, but once you get into the lv100s people just don't need to be as perpetually active... yet more than half my clan usually has 100s of donations a week. The n00bs want players who are active RIGHT NOW... and those players will either figure out that there's no reason to be so active when everyything takes 10days to upgrade or quit the game anyway

well if there was a log of every player that shows how many clans the player joined before and how long stays...or at least an average staying time in whole career..that would pretty much solve this problem.also every clan should switch to 'invite only'.that way the leader or the co-leaders could actually decide whether to let a player in or not.
I know keeping this ammount of data would take a lot..bt at least an average staying time should be added.

What if you're like me and my clan who switches clans every couple of days?
