Question About Times In Town Shops

(Moderators, feel free to relocate this thread - I just couldn't find another place where it looked like it should go......)

I'd like to know why the visitors in town have to stay so long in each shop after they have received the items they asked for. I can understand them hanging around for fifteen or twenty minutes, maybe even an hour - but more than that is just beyond ridiculous! If a visitor in the bed & breakfast wants blackberry jam and you don't have any made, they'll be there SIXTEEN HOURS - eight to make the jam, then they just sit there another eight hours!!!!

It's part of the game. You yourself wouldn't go go to an actual bed & breakfast and only stay 20 minutes. Just like everything else, it has waiting times. This is time management game not a rush & get it done game. And about the products they ask for, build up a stock of items. Why do you think you are able to expand your barn? To store items for later. Or you could always send them away if you don't have the item(s) try are asking for.

I really like this aspect of the game, I think it is clever and forces us into using our time management skills and stock building savvy. So many of my customers want soup at the moment that they stay in the town for days! My heart sinks when i see the order. But, that's the game, it would soon be boring without a few difficult customers. :)
I would only note with sadness that the jam is now so precious that it is impossible to keep enough on hand to serve town and boat requests, so I find myself passing on too many boats, or feeling unable to help other people with crates, and it would be fun to have enough to sell sometimes.

If it wasn't for my soup customers clogging up the system, I probably wouldn't have time to make enough jam for my jam customers, so maybe the soupers are a blessing in disguise.

It's a game, not a simulation.

The timing construct is a part of every other function in the game, and the length of time required to wait is relative to the reward given.

I think the times are fairly realistic. People don't go to B&B's to buy jam, they go there to spend the night. Obviously, that's going to be at least 8 hrs. Three hours is reasonable for a movie (kind of a long movie, but not unheard of). One hour for grocery shopping and 2-1/2 hours for a restaurant meal are also reasonable, IMO. A half-day at the spa is perfectly normal. (I was afraid that one was going to be days, since spa weekends are a thing, at least around here.)

And you can get those times down with upgrades.

And yes, the way to deal with it is to build a stockpile, especially of slow-to-produce items like jam. While you are building that stockpile, you may have to send away visitors who ask for it. I try to keep 20 of each. (Ten of each when my barn was smaller.)

I also try to put visitors into the buildings that are likely to be trouble first; if they ask for something I don't have or don't want to give, I can send them away without losing anything. For me, the spa and the grocery are the worst. Because they ask for lobster tails at the spa, and for lots and lots of sugar at the grocery.

Yes. I like the way it's designed. The times are aspect of the game.

If you don't want to wait, there is an option to speed up using diamonds. Which no one prefers :P
OR make service time upgrades

I am always out of things but I have no complaints regarding those.
Sometimes my visitor has to wait more than 2 days especially for hot chocolate. I never have white sugar to make them :(

One thing is I am never out of jams till now even though many visitors ask for them nor do I ask my neighbors for it :D
May be you also can manage -
Make those jams which you don't have or you have the lowest of
Send away boats which have Jam+1 difficult product
Don't let Jam maker rest

Yup, I no longer fill jam crates or truck orders. Unless I have extras I want to get rid of.

For me, it's just not worth it. I already have all the boat and truck achievements. I've unlocked everything there is to unlock, and bought everything I want to buy. I don't need any more coins, XP, or vouchers.

But I still need expansion items, so all my jam goes to the town.

Seriously, I can't imagine myself going to a spa and ask for a lobster tail, or a few dozens of corn/carrot. A few of them go to B&B and only ask for a cup of coffee, while some others intend to make a feast. That's just hilarious ;)

I agree! It always gets me when someone requests a couple of coffee beans to munch on. :D

But on topic, I also think the wait times are realistic. This is not a dash around as fast as possible game. I gave those up when I found hay day!!

But when you've completely maxed out the waiting time upgrade, then it suddenly becomes the dash around game ;). Imagine 1,5 ~ 2 hours for the B&B :p
