Hero's used in Battle, should be separate from regular online. You shouldn't have to wait for them to heal before they can help protect your clan base just because of Clan battle! It reduces my level of defense when they are sleep for an hour.

here is an easy answer: don't use them in your war and you'll be fine. ;)
