Time to upgrade to TH9? Looking for confirmation!

So I've been playing this game long enough I seem to feel I have a handle on it, I'm just looking for some confirmation. Thinking of starting my TH9 upgrade later today / early tomorrow because as I see it I will otherwise run into a bunch of idle builders while finishing out 1-2 other things (I am an active player and so prefer to not have this occur as I can always get enough loot to start a new upgrade)

Current base: (Note: BK is upgrading to 9, since you can't see his level due to being upgraded)

I've done those skullies I have so far in about two weeks, so I figure with some hard pushing I can get those wrapped up or close to wrapped up in the 10 days. I can probably also farm the 30k more DE needed for AQ no problem (leaving BK at 9, one level from maxed). I should be able to cycle that last Tesla one more time, making it one level from max when upgrade finishes, and should have no problem maxing those ATs and that last barracks in the 10 day upgrade time.

Almost all troops in lab are maxed except DE troops (as I've been dumping into king). I can probably do one DE upgrade in lab and my last elixer upgrade (giants) during the TH upgrade. I plan to use Balloonion and Barch primarily as attack strategies for farming, and will probably look at mastering a Go-WiWi/Go-WiPe as war attack strategies.

If I don't upgrade in next day or two I will have the majority of my builders going idle after around 7-10 days from now when ATs get wrapped up.

Thoughts?

I say go for it in the next few days. Looks ready to me, make sure you do the AT's and cannons during waiting period.

Just grind it out - you won't regret it.

You have not much stuff left to upgrade (well, and those walls), but why not do that now? Will feel more like am accomplishment after you've finished it.

Figure out how much more build time you have left. Looks like you have archer towers, barracks, cannons, and one Tesla (can't see BK lvl). If you have more than 10 days remaining using four builders, then wait and use the time to farm walls as well. If you can complete all buildings before th9 finishes, then go now. I would rather go to th9 than have builders sitting idle. Builder time is more precious than having max sculls.

Get your base/walls like mine and then upgrade.. I just hit th9. Just saw that your archer T are not maxed.

BTW as a new th9, i'm struggling to find loot at Gold 3, moving up to 2 now. Archer Q helps with farming a ton though, a lot more than burger king. Only advice I can give you is if you decide to upgrade, make sure to have full storages when you hit th9.

I am an advocate of finishing ALL the upgrades for TH 8 before moving to TH 9. I know there are many people that say just go up, its no big deal, but i really feel that having fully maxed TH8 helped me finish upgrades to TH 9 faster. It is noticeably harder to generate gold as TH 9. I farm Crystal 2 and 3 now for DE to keep hero upgrades going. Also having full storages is critical to a good start. Get your lab, spell factory and camps done ASAP.
Remember you will have a wizard tower, air defense, tesla, and 25 walls to get to par with your current camp in addition to the xbows. Then if maxed you only have one upgrade step left. It pays to be patient.

Get those defenses to max and you good to go

As a TH9 who farm alot, I come across way too many TH7 with full Collectors where I only get around 150k loot instead of the around 280k loot I'd get if I'd been TH8. What I'm trying to say is: You'll severely regret upgrading to TH9 if you don't max TH8 (especially walls) first.

Th9 is no different from th8 regarding what loot is available relative the the bases you attack. Moving to th8 meant you couldn't raid those th6 bases like you could as th7. Works the same way for th9.

I see no difference in farming as a baby th9 (1 week). I still find just as many 200/200k+ collector raids, but now I have a bigger/better army (220 space + extra spell + AQ) to help get 50% easier or to take on better defended bases.

Max if you want, but don't do it because you think loot is harder to acquire as th9. My opinion is it's easier.

I just upgraded my TH9 over the weekend and I have some tips:

I had max defenses and 225 skull walls. Due to the steep cost of new th9 defensive upgrades like the 2 xbows I would highly recommend doing the walls before going because I did notice the loot penalty on my first raiding session.

I recommend having:

max elixir storage
max gold storage
At least 40k de for AQ
Loot in CC as well
I had max gold for a couple days before going to TH9 so my collectors also contributed another 500k in gold which really helped out.

The pros are that you get more walls/ defenses to work with and the AQ is pretty sweet especially when raiding. I send in Barch first and then the BK to tank with AQ behind him picking off buildings with her range.

The cons are I got hit by lvl 6 bloons for 340k gold my first night. If it's not hogs its something else.
