Good points raised here. We lost 5 longterm members about a week ago because of problems with Clan Wars. Hopefully SC will do something about it in the next update.Quote:

personally, when my clan wins a war, i gain about 800k gold, 400k elixir, and lose about 1-2k dark elixir. if we lose, i'm even on gold, lose about 400k elixir and lose anywhere from 4-6k dark elixir.
i'm already okay with that - i enjoy wars and have reached the point in the game where i don't care if upgrading my BK is delayed half a day. i'd rather war (my clan wins far more than we lose, too). I care even less about gold upgrades or the four elixir upgrades I have left -- everything will be upgraded in time. in fact, a couple months from now will return me to the point that elixir will no longer matter to me (barring SC introducing new upgrades).
if SC would boost dark elixir for wins, i'd be happy.
but again, as a long-time veteran of the game, clan wars gives me a reason to scout, plan, and try to perfectly execute a couple attacks with max spells and max troops. it opens a part of the game that farming -- where i prioritized efficiency over EVERYTHING else -- simply didn't provide. i'm happy with that. i can always go back to farming if i want resources.
Between the nonlegit players we see in just about every match. To the down right sad matching making system. Which I know there is NOT one. It only matches your clans sizes. Not the strength of your clan. We are a clan of 40 with 14 TH10s, then some 9's and 8's. Todays clan we are taking on has 29 TH10s..... yep, seem legit, lol.
The whole thing is like a waste of time and resources most of the time.
Maybe a fix but you tell me is that we train our troops on the war map leaving our normal map for farming/trophy hunting
war map you can still boost or gem your troops and we get to use our heroes for war even if they are upgrading and spell factor you can still use your spells
people leave the clan when they upgrade spells because they can't give it there 100%
war loot if you win and you don't make it back it's ok because you can still farm as normal

For a bonus in the game which isn't generated by players, doesn't affect your loot if you get attacked, which is essentially a free resource, lets you test out base designs with very little consequence to your resources, you guys whinge a lot. Grow up, it's one aspect of the game, if you don't derive any pleasure from this aspect of the game because it doesn't give you the desired rewards then don't play it, it's as simple as that.
Saying that you are losing loyal clan members because they don't choose to war indicates they have chosen not to play it and if you like complaining about the loot so much, join them in a clan which does not war, problem solved you have your merry band of loyal clan members with you again and your loot problems with clan wars is solved. End of story...
If you pursue the war loot bonus is not enough then the list of complaints will just continue snowballing, consider these points and I am sure there will be many more to follow:
- How is the system suppose to compensate war donations without overcompensating those who do not donate?
- How is the system suppose to accommodate different army compositions without overcompensating players that can skilfully cheaper armies to achieve the same objectives?
- And furthermore if you have more loot in clan wars then would there be a point to farming? Would you then be closing down one aspect of the game? If so then new complaints would arise that we can't clan wars more frequently. And then the whole resource system that is currently in place with be out of sync because there is too much free resources out there.
Clan wars is not and should not be farming, if you use clan wars for farming then I would say you are trying to use the wrong aspect of the game to gain something that you could use another aspect of the game to do more efficiently.
I see a few flaws to your counter discussion. It would be simple to regain resources for donated troops in preparation day. A running calculator that adds what you have donated would then be given to you back if you win the war. So if you donate 100k of elixir based troops to your clan mates you get back 100k plus the war reward. I am not a computer programmer, but I bet that is a very easy thing to do.Quote:

There seems to be a lot of players on this forum who wish to "work" at this game with an arm tied behind their back. This is meant to be an entertain, challenging game to have fun with.

I haven't read anything in this thread apart from the first line, but if you see clan wars as a "hassle" then no it's not worth it. I enjoy clan wars because I find it fun and like the competitive aspect. If you don't enjoy clan wars then it's not worth taking part in.
In my clan it's a toss up. I'm a casual farmer who enjoys the challenge, but the matchmaking during the past couple wars has been off. I'm just glad SC has made these wars voluntary.
