Clan Wars, is there enough loot is it worth the hassle?

Thank you for spending the time and reading the first line, ignoring all the comments, explanations and then posting. You sound like you have weighed up all pros and cons and come to a balanced, un-biased decision.

i do enjoy clan wars but I am unsatisfied how much the loot reward there is for winning a war. Especially dark elixir. In fact why am I bothering to reply to your post. Guess you stopped reading after the first line. Only joking GNR, thank you for responding to this thread. It is good to get peoples thoughts on an issue.

It was already known there wasn't going to be a seperate leaderboard for CW, so it made little sense to me. People of course replied with stupid comments like "It is called Clash of CLANS, that's the point" and similar.

So now, more people agree with me. Sure, it all depends on your level and clan..but something is wrong when I get more profit from two collector raids than from the whole war.

Like someone here said, wars must make profit, or else we would have world peace. If not profit, there should really be a seperate leaderboard. Give us bragging rights if not loot profit.
But having nothing out of these two makes CW pointless.

As it stands, the only way to brag about your wars is to make a screenshot of the war log.
At least give us the option to export war stats into a .png image file :[

this is my first post here. I'm another one who is very disappointed with Clan War loot!
Due to that atmosphere in our clan became unstable and some people left the clan or stopped playing at all. ;(
After more than a year due to this atmosphere today I left my clan as well and to be honest I'm quite sad about it. :(
It was all because basically most people agreed that CW doesn't pay off (which is true) and some people wanted to do CW anyway, because "it's fun" even though they were losing resources on it.

I disagreed, I'm playing this game to improve my village and units and CW makes it status quo or very little progress. And I personally don't see any fun in that. In my opinion, SUPERCELL, you killed the happiness of many of your devoted players/customers.

Suggestion: Triple the amount of loot in Clan Wars. I'm sorry but now I'm simply not motivated to attend CW.

I use hogs, lv5, army is about 2k (so twice) and I get about 2k back if we win.
This is a guarenteed loss of 2k, I also donate witches, so more.

For me it is worth it, I love CW, we just had an EPIC win (91-90 last minute, see my latest thread). It just gives so much joy.

I wouldnt mind a higher DE loot, but its worth it imo

Games need to evolve and change or else they risk becoming stale and losing revenue.

For my clan and me, it's worth the effort because it adds another dimension to the game. Clan wars provide a more collaborative activity rather than the aggregate results of multiplayer battles.

It's natural for players to react differently when new changes are released. In the end, it depends on your criteria of what makes an aspect of a game worth the effort. In your case, it's clearly 'no' based on whether the loot haul makes up for what you expend.

In our clan, we use clan wars as a testing ground for different strategies and tactics for future clan wars and multiplayer battles. We all expect a net loss of elixir but like the interaction among clan mates and wars that are decided in the final minutes.

War is like an official push. What do you get for a push besides seeing how high you can get as far as trophies? Besides the possibility of a few gems if you haven't already gotten them for Crystal and Masters, there is nothing but shear pride involved in a push. To see how high you can get, to see how high your clan can get.

War is not farming. You shouldn't make a profit using the best of the best troops. If you did, what stops anyone from using the best of the best? At least now, people are restricted based on costs. Some, like myself, don't mind spending 3000 in Dark Lex for minimal return, as long as I get 6 stars for my clan.

I'm sure this has all been said before in the 10+ pages.

No one is forcing you to go to war and no one is forcing you to use expensive army compositions like GoWiPe.

As a farmer who all I do on a regular basis is gain resources to grow my village, clan wars is a good mix to break the monotony of this existence. It shakes things up, makes you need to actually evaluate your opponent.

When farming, I just look at resources and where the AD is so I know how to drop my troops. I usually don't care about trophies, I want the loot. If I can get all the loot and lose trophies, I'm satisfied. I'm usually looking for a premmie TH8+ with poor defenses and A LOT OF LOOT.

In war, you can't do that anymore. You have to find the best base that you can confidently 3 star. That means having to fight someone you are not normally going to fight. You have to use troops you normally wouldn't be using. You have to actually strategize because I can't just lightening strike a few weak archers coming out of the CC like I do when I'm farming. Luring becomes a must, predicting trap placements, you have to plan the entire attack.

I'm sorry if all you believe in is to continue to progress your level 6 archer towers to level 7 and that is ALL you live for in the world of COC. As a farmer, I can appreciate that mentality. But to not want to shake things up occasional? And to have a feeling of discontent on a free game because of that? You can find clans out there that don't war. We war twice a week. Some war back to back to back.

War is NOT farming. It isn't meant to replace farming. It isn't meant to break even. War is about helping your clan win NO MATTER THE COST.
Don't like being a team player and dropping a few thousand in resources? Then don't go to war. It's that simple.

I got to agree, you don't want to be a team player leave the clan then.
For me i enjoy stuffing that CC with loot.
