Introduction

After reviewing several of my TH9 base designs and based on the latest update, I decided to do away with the anti-hog design and modify Erebus to suit the latest meta.

Design

Base w/o any buildings:

For the design, it is fairly straightforward. Compartmentalised secondary core to house the primary resource with giant bombs and air mines to destroy any foolish army compositions thinking that they have reached the gold.

Mortars placed on the north, east and west of the base to prevent any luring of CC. Studying how most attack patterns would come from the east and west, spring traps are placed on both sides to take giants off the battlefield as they plough through one defense to another.

Miniature funnels in front of gold storages to prevent archers from sniping them and allowing wizard towers to melt them down.

Teslas/giant bombs interchangeable depending on how the player wants their core to have more firepower.

Pros:

-Anti-giant/healer
-Anti-Barch/BAM
-Unique design on east and west of base to spring off giants
-Forward-built funnels in front of gold storages to zap tier 1 troops

Cons:

-Possibly weak against TH10 level troops
-Not anti-GOWIPE.

Replays (Conventional)

-Coming Soon!-

Replays will be added along the way. So far, no really fierce/actual attacks yet.

Yet another awesome base Avernicus :) Although its meant to be anti-hog, why isn't there double gbombs to fry the pigs? An attacker could easily place a few healing spells along the way. Also, you should specify which replay is representing.

Well there are giant bombs on the northeastern and southwestern angles of the base. O.o

Thanks u very much Arvenius, i have used your base design for many time it work for me but now i have a problem. I have a lot of Dark Elixir in the Storage and i usually lost 1k-1k2 when in raid:mad:. Could you design 1 base to protect it, i need to buy my AQ. btw thanks your base is freaking awesome. ;)

Try Dark Desires if you're TH8. If your TH9 try the Prime B.

Lacking in the double giant bombs department for the anti-hog. Also, I'm pretty sure you could change every other anti-hog design to a conventional design :/ so I wouldn't really have that down as a 'special feature'. The design itself is pretty good i suppose, but it's definitely not the best I've ever seen. Exposed wiz towers (on the anti hog) and a rather weak core of just 2 lvl 1 xbows? Don't think so buddy.

Having a ring is all well and good, but it's useless if you're not going to kill the hogs going around it. Double giant bombs and a stronger core would help. Clan castle is in an ok place though.

Really nothing to stop a half decent giant/archer army (don't even need a healer) from getting at least 2 gold storages (especially if the giants used are level 6). Xbows don't do anything to giants, so you will be totally relying on spring traps, which will not stop the archers from taking the gold storages. Air defences are placed ok, with decent coverage.

Verdict: Nice, good looking farming design, but not very unique in any way and offers no solid anti-hog defence.

You sure those "double" GBs are gonna work? Won't hogs just trigger one of them when going from a defense building to the next on either ring?

Haha i'm not sure about that either. Conceptually it should work but i need to get mass heal hogged in order to know. Thanks mate. :)

The anti hog ring is flawed and i can see many places where a large pack of hogs would leak into the core, also the " giant bombs" you have there will not work properly because there is a layer of walls separating them where the splash damage of the giant bombs converge. Have you ever seen a hog travel directly on a wall? No, which means the giant bombs will be triggered separately thus defeating the purpose of a double giant bomb.
Everything else about the base is nice especially the air defense placement compared to other anti hog bases.

Hmmm perhaps not.. We'll see. But i'm guessing u and a few others have agreed on the gbomb placement w the wall separation. I'll amend it shortly. Thanks for the insight!

Modifications has been made! :D check out the new Anti Hog form! Now comes with additional outer perimeter funneling that hides an air bomb!

This is what i've been waiting for. :D
Although I'm not a fan of giving away my gold or elixir. The funnel on the defense ring is amazing! No traps untriggered (except maybe for air bombs). But yah it will not hold against GiWiPe or GoWiPe that good (if done well). The giants can be redirected to the middle using wallbreakers. Overall its a nice base once again :)

BTW I modified your Hade's Dining Table for war purposes and I must say I'm either untouchable or 1-stared thank you. But your Three Doors farm base is a TH9 magnet so I get 70-90% most of the time. Overall thank you.

Readjusted buildings and updated pics. :D thanks for that whole insight. I've updated my base to fit the meta better. Heh. I suppose harsher gradings are the key to improvement! :)

The name caught my eye, because Erebus is the largest haunted house in the Metro Detroit area! :) The base appears to be a solid looking base, but I will have to try it out next week! :)

AT LAST! A real attack! Took out a good 50% of my base along with 50% of my loot. Was holding onto 400k + gold. Yes!! Ok time to tweak the base for the springs.

Haha, I apologise, but I do critique bases rather harshly if they don't have logs:). Shall I get started on your 'V2' then?

My pros:
-I really do like the revised giant bomb placement on the anti-hog base. The double giant bombs should trigger together and annihilate any (lvl 1-4) hogs going around the ring.
-Trap placement in general is quite good. I believe the teslas and spring traps are in good positions. should send a decent number of giants flying.
-Defences are well placed; well protected splash defences and air defences.

My Cons:
-Some advice I would give here is to put a bomb in the gap between the double GBs to insta-kill lvl 5 hogs, which do not get taken out by double giant bombs if they are on full health.
-A big flaw I find in this base design is the lack of compartments in the storage ring. This is a major problem because if that ring is broken, all your storages become open to the enemy. As this is a farming base, I believe this should be fixed. This is easily solved by removing a wall or two from the useless layer around the outside archer towers.
-Finally, the general lack of compartments on this base is also a major flaw. It would only take 1 or 2 well timed wallbreakers to smash a hole into the storage ring. I know the goal of this many openings is to funnel giants and hogs, but the wallbreaker AI will go straight for the storage compartment if deployed between the wizard towers/outermost archer towers area because the closest set of enclosed walls is the storage ring walls.

Verdict: Definite improvements over the 1st version, but could be better with a compartmentalised storage ring and maybe less funnels. 7.5/10:)

Ahh ok. I'll do smth about the compartmentalisation. I like ur feedback. It's really in depth and can honesly help to improve the base.

So one small bomb in btw the gbombs for instant bacon? Or two? :P

+ another replay. Good idea of Kim to place the small bomb in btw the gbombs. It brought those beards down enough to be 2-3 shot by my xbow.

Can't believe I found your base! TH sniped it but really wish I had brought better troops..just used batch. Wanted to see how it would perform.

Good to see you still making bases Avernicus.

I would really like more replay logs because it looks like the ring is broken when hogs go for the wizard towers near the xbows. I like the protected double bombs, but unfortunately there are only 4 spots for them so I can always drop a heal spell on the area. Not a huge problem (or easily avoidable) but something to keep in mind. Otherwise I like the design and I think it will hold up well against most attacks.

Yup i saw that base design. Its v unique since the standard hog is to make them go round in a circle but in this case, its made to go about an S route.

It takes a while to design such bases. I always make sure i know what i want for my base eg. Anti giant/anti hog etc and then work on that idea.

Subsequently think of things that no one would expect out of a the base built with ur initial idea. Twist it a few times and u get ur very own unique base haha. :3

PS: if u get a headache when designing ur base, chances are the enemy will feel the same way. :P

tbh there is way too much funnelling and getting to the core would be pretty easy, the enemy basically doesnt need to break any walls. gowiwi would destroy this.

Not bad design.

But DE can easily be stolen if attacker attacks from the direction towards DE.

Other than that, looks great and it does protect other resources very well with a regular farming composition.

you choose where you want them to go.

Ive been using this base as a new th9 for the past few days and have only had one decent attack against me with balloonions, even then they didnt get much of the loot, everyone else just th snipes! seems pretty good so far for an early th9 base!

Decent base for protecting gold and elixir but DO NOT use this base to protect DE. Giant armies from the south will easily get to the DE Storage. They practically funnel there with the placement of the two elixir storages on the south side.
