The (annoying) gap between stars
This complaint/suggestion has to do with giants. I have only been playing the game a few weeks now, and have (what I consider to be far too many times) experienced the painful difference between two and three stars due to the fact that my group of defense-dozing giants target a non-threatening entity like an air support that is not being used, or (what I consider to be the most egregious offense) a turret that is currently being built/upgraded and is not in use during the battle, only to be picked off slowly by the LAST effing cannon or archer tower on the map. I know the troops are run on some sort of Boolean algebra-type decision engine, but something needs to be thrown in that if/then process to let the giants know which defenses are a threat and assign a hierarchy. I am fine with the giants not targeting anything until all defenses are destroyed; however, they need to also target the defenses that are actively threatening their survival and ability to continue destroying defenses. The description of a giant states something like "...show them a turret or cannon and you'll see their fury unleashed!" Cool...except when I am watching a group of three giants wail on a half built archer tower or an air defense that is probably covered with enough dust from lack of use to act as an effective shield, all while a cannon is shooting them in the back; erstwhile all I can hear in my head is someone quoting the above description of the giant accompanied by clown horns and the ESPN 'not top 10' theme music while I hang my head in utter disbelief and shame. I honestly don't care if this has been ruled out, although I really hope it hasn't. It is ridiculous and I think everyone would agree. Please make this different so I can feel like I am not spending thousands of elixer to send cannon fodder into battle.
Just deal with it and do not worry
As much this is annoying it is for your enemy so just be grateful :D
Yes...it IS part of the game...and it is wrong
At this stage, giant raids are part of my strategy and work fine, thank you. I'm sure that will evolve as I grow my village (I am currently at lvl 29 with 1104 trophies for whoever asked that). But for now, the "reasoning" that it is simply part of the game doesn't seem like it had enough thought behind it to waste time replying to this thread. I understand that you might think it is irrelevant because you've possibly been playing a lot longer and don't use giants the way that I do. But for those of us who just started playing, we have to come up with strategy using the limited means afforded to us. So yes...it is a part of the game, but that doesn't make it right or mean that changing it would drastically modify the way the game operates or how people play. To whoever said I need to develop better strategies, you should well know that once you place troops on the map their path can't be modified, and I can't help what my giants are doing 1:48 seconds into the battle after blowing through all but two defenses and ending up on the other side of the map only to be shot down by a cannon while they desperately wail on a turret that isn't attacking them. It was super cool to try to posture and make yourself sound like some seasoned vet with a penance of advice for the newcomer, but maybe think about it a little harder next time before you throw up onto your keyboard for everyone in the world to read.
