vacation mode for clan wars

Hello,

Me and my clan, we have serious troubles with lots of member who go to vacations. Thats not bad, as our clan is lasting long and we know they'll come two weeks later back, but because of clan wars we have always to kick and reinvite them again. Its always a mess, with someone asking why we don't accept their friends in our clan or when the people who come back after vacation ask why we are full when it was supposed to be a reserved place.
So it would be really nice if we or the member them self could activate the vacation mode so we can have a 45 vs 45 or 40 vs 40 clan war.
I hope this idea is not locked out, i tried to locate it in that section but i did not find anything at first look.
I would be really grateful if you consider adding this feature.

This feature is badly needed. But I think it is being asked for repeatedly in different threads. Please see this one here for example...

There have been things like this suggested. I agree with you that we need to have something like this but if it's the leader that chooses who to put on vacation mode he could abuse it

If you have a leader who abuses things like that, won't people soon realise that maybe they would be better off in another clan with another leader? Surely that is what GOOD leadership is all about?

Yeah this is a big issue in my clan as well... We kick 3-5 people before the war, but were filling up so fast its a burden to figure out who stays and who goes.

When i searched for vacation mode, i ended up on different kind of topics. An 'opt out option', like stated in that thread, is exactly what i mean. I hope they consider it in some future update. Thanks for your answers.

WHAT ABUSE ?????? Anyway we have to kick them .. That´s much worse !!

on both my accounts i have to kick 4-5 players twice a week each time we run a war .. The too small villages (level 20 in a mostly level 60-80 clan) and the ones on holidays.
They dońt like it .. I lost a good player who was on holidays because of that ;(
we have a nostress clan, i would never have kicked him because he was on holidays , unfortunatly for the war i had no other choice.
Some decrease their trophees not to be selected but they go up again with defense and it doesńt work.

plz supercell add this function quickly...

I think that SC purposely haven't included this feature in fear that it will cause players to go inactive and not play as much (meaning not spend as much on gems).

They are sort of forcing players to be active with the introduction of clan wars, unless you don't care to do clan wars, which most people like participating in.

I'm pretty certain SC makes more money without this feature, that's why it's not currently in the game.

Perhaps you're right, but it's putting a lot of stress on our clan and making the whole thing less fun, which could drive some away entirely.

Every clan has people who miss a war here and there. Even the hardcore war clans. There is just as much of a chance that they have people on vacation as you do. If your clan participates in wars all the time and you don't want to . . . you are in the wrong clan. If your clan never wars and you want to . . . you are in the wrong clan. This is not a problem. It is a dynamic of social gaming. People with like interests band together. Your leader has two choices. 1) decide what they want the clan to be and recruit/boot/develop players to grow towards that goal or 2) let people do whatever they want, win some, loose some and be happy with the terminal mediocrity that they are encouraging. Sounds a lot like little league, starting a business, managing a department in a large company . . . ANY competitive social structure be it real or virtual.

I think this problem could be solved if they decided that linking feeder/sister clans was a worthwhile update. You coul simply move to the waitlist/war off clan and still be associated. Bonus points if the chats were linked too!

I think it is better when people can activate it themselves. And there has to be a max. of vacation days. Something like 14 days vacation per year. And you have to be 3 days in vacation mode(otherwise you can go in and out vacation mode)

My clan is made up of adults, and we're all graduates of the same university, so we have a lot in common outside the game, and like being in the same clan. That said, as adults, we all work real jobs. It is not just the occasional vacation that gets in the way of being super active all the time, it is work, wives, kids, etc. Why should we have to tell our friends to find a new clan because they need to turn their attention to other matters for a few days here and there? How does this make the game better? What difference would it make to Supercell if we allowed some of our members to sit out the occasional war? They're sitting out anyway by quitting or getting kicked from our clan, and we're all having less fun with them gone (leading some of us to think about quitting the game altogether). Just a bad situation.

I saw a forum suggesting an opt out of war option. Allowing clans to go down in war bases without losing members.

I agree. This is a needed feature.

Give each clan member the ability to be on an "opt-out" list and not be included in clan strength calculation.

Actually, I am in almost the exact same situation. Our clan is almost entirely made up of RL friends and our children. The reality is, 5 minutes to log in and build your army + 5 minutes to get in your attack + 5 minutes to log in and build your army + 5 minutes to get in your attack = 20 minutes every 24 hours. That does not qualify as active by anybody's definition and with 2 jobs and 4 kids I find it easy to make that happen.

It doesn't just take five minutes to create and army and five minutes to attack. We are strategic in who we attack and when, so we want our members to participate a bit more fully in each war. Regardless, if a person is overwhelmed with real world responsibilities, they should be able to just "opt out" for a period of time. It makes absolutely no sense not to allow this, as in our case, those members quit the clan (and maybe the game), or are kicked out (which makes everyone sad and the game less fun).
