Hi, Y'all!
Recently started coc and I need some advice. I am currently TH5 trying to farm for upgrades/walls in the 700 trophy range.
Heard that at ~1000 trophy range the loot's great but I'm having some trouble to find snipeable bases to raise trophy count. Would like some advice on raiding tactics (currently learning to use barch) and maybe some base reviews?

im not sure that barch would be very effective for you yet... firstly, low level barbs and archers suck and secondly part of what makes barch effective (for me anyway) is higher level collectors to smash too.
I forget what you have at your disposal at th5 but giant/wb/wiz will do you more good i think. . then giant/healer at TH6.
Barch from the side of the TH. With small TH4 bases you will surely get Two Stars
I am currently TH5 and what I found to be most effective for trophy hunting is:
5-6 Wb's
5-6 Giants
10-15 gobs
40ish Arch
and the rest Barbs
Count the buildings on the outside and see if you can get to 50% with them (they are all worth the same amount). If you can, attack the base. If you miss the 'next' button, you can still 'end battle' without losing trophies, IF you don't drop any troops.
When i was a TH5, i usally just sniped, but with barch, (and wallbreakers), you could easily get stars and loot on the TH4s :D
Use 4 WBs, 7 giants, 35 gobs, and 30 barbs.
Use your giant as a meat shield as well as to destroy the mortar. Use WBs as nessary. Next, after splash is down, use your remaining WBs to enter the core of the base where the resources are. Drop your barbarians first as another meat shield for point defenses and let your gobs steal all the loot.
This strategy always worked for me on my other account. Enjoy..

What I did when I was TH 5 was 4 wb, 10 giants, 30 archers (or some ratio like that, I don't know what your camp space is)
What I looked for was a fort style base where most of the stuff was in the center and a single wall around it all, OR a mortar near an outside wall.
Drop giants near mortar, crack wall with wall breakers, then as the giants walk around the base drop 5-10 archers outside the wall near the archer towers and cannons that the giants are approaching. This distracts a few hits off your giants making them last longer and helps the giants take down the defensive tower and then cleans up the rest of the outside stuff.
You can easily 3 star most TH4 and TH5 bases this way.
Actually I'd suggest just rushing TH6 and getting healers asap as that will change your entire game play and make most TH5 and TH6 bases easy to take.

I currently only have one of each Storages (Will get another gold when going for TH6 upgrade), so I replaced one of them for a collector. My next goals will be to upgrade Barracks to unlock wizzes, they seem fun as hell!

I am a Th6, upgrading to Th7, but I still remember what I did at Th5, where I was at around 1000 trophies.
First, you look for bases that just have walls surrounding everything and only one compartment, and a exposed mortar. (At your trophy level, there are quite a few of these) (Generally I don't attack ones with wiz towers because it's just easier and more predictable.) Drop a couple wallbreakers, and 5 giants to destroy that mortar. After that, spam all those barbs, archers, and gobs you have. If it's still not enough, use 3 backup wizards, which generally you shouldn't use. If the mortar is still not destroyed, lightning spell it. But you MUST have the mortar destroyed to effectively use this base plan. Also, make sure to destroy any defense outside of walls first using barbs, so when you drop the giants they go to the mortar, not get distracted by some exposed cannon.
My army composition is 45-50 barbs, 10 goblins, 6 wall breakers, 5 giants,3 wizards, and 26 archers (assuming you have 130-135 housing space).

also, thanks for the tips on raiding. Have sucessfully raised my trophy count and as I've heard, the loot's way better at ~1000 trophies. Almost finished upgrading walls to lvl 4 and will start 5 soon.
Best of luck! Actually, lazy farming strategy MAY be useful for you. Consisting of giants, wb, archers and goblins, just smash inactive bases and steal their collectors. Or if the storages are rather exposed, you can attack the storages, and retreat quickly
Actually, since I upgraded my Archers / Barbs to lvl 3, I have found that Barch works wonders. I don't have the patience to wait out Giant based armies and I find that they are a bit of a hassle to work with, since they lack offensive power (may be because of lack of upgrades), are very slow moving and I won't have healers available until TH 6.Quote:
