I guess the only real value to this troop compared to the bomber is that it can be dropped at distance and cannot be hit. No matter how convenient that would be, if it cost dark elixer, even 1 unit, I would not use it.

Because, I do what anyone else is doing, I drop 1 or 2 barbarians to distract the defenses and so create a free run for my regular bomber and voila, walls vanished into the ozone and free entry for my troops.
I agree with HeavensFace that this troop is no more than an OP bomber and don't think it is needed.

Edit, Also, with 5000 normal elixer, I would not use it, I can have 2 regular bombers and a few barbarians for this money, and lowering it down makes it just another wallbreaker, so this idea is not going to work I'm afraid.
