It is not a troop, not a building, not a hero as we know them today, so what is it?
It was a night in June, troops gattering around the campfire after some rough battles. They share stories about their battles, epic victories and tremendous losses.
All troops share their bravest stories and most heroic actions as they discuss tactics for the nex battle. During the night at the campfire they more and more start to like the Barbarian Kingīs idea of building the catapult.
This catapult is different in any way compared to what have been seen on battles today. This is not a troop. It is not a defense. It is not a hero.
So, what is it?
Well, it is basically all together, it is troop, hero and defense. Where existing heroīs take a human form (Barbarian King and Archer Queen) and both are used in offense and defense, this new unit can be most compared with a hero allthough it is not a human form. It is a structure.
Being a structure rather than anything human the catapult cannot move without assistance of other troops. Typically the Catapult is carried by 10 - 20 Barbarians, depending on the level of the Catapult. It can also be moved by 2-4 giants.
The catapult can be carried into offense by the 2-4 giants or 10-20 barbarians. When all deployed giants and barbarians during an attack vanish, the catapult no longer functions.
(ps. this is all done to ensure this thing doesnīt get overpowered)
During this night at the campfire the King and Queen had a huge argument about this new catapult to be built. The final result of the debat being that Archer Queen will never go into battle together with Barbarianīs Catapult, how sad but true....
(ps2. again, to ensure this thing doesnīt get overpowered)
In offense, the Catapult is a great way of attacking enemy defense structures behind walls. But, it comes with a cost. The Barbarians moving and positioning the catapult along the battle field are not fighting and not causing any damage.
In defense, the Catapult, unlike other heroes, is stationary. It has a single 3 tile spot, and a certain radius, similar to mortar. Itīs weak point is itīs backside as the catapult can only shoot in a 30 degree attack angle on itīs station and alltough it can be turned, this again requires barbarians and also time to do so.
If youīre attacking a base holding this catapult, watch for the direction it is pointing to and make sure to keep out of itīs range, this thing is dangerous!
But, can you sneak into the back?
You may stand a good change to destroy it before it is turned around, and even better, there may not be Barbarians in the castle to move this thing which would make them spread eagled :-)
Tell me what you think about the idea and I may put effort in adding levels/statistics and artwork.
Just on the lookout first to see if the idea is liked or not.
