Changing languages is like taking a seat at a different slot machine.
One of two things will happen:
1) you will win, and you'll say it was because you switched seats
or
2) you won't win, and you'll say it doesn't matter what machine you're at or that you should've stayed at the first machine

There's so many other things that could have affected this besides boosting your racks... I have no problems finding loot with just a few clicks and I almost never spend any of my gems. Some days are just better to farm than others and there's so many different variables to think about such as: server activity, time of day, and trophy range.
more server activity there is in your server or even your trophy range means less bases from both people being on and farming bases getting a 12 hr shield (assuming someone gets the base to a 40% or if the person has their base set up to be sniped). Then you have the time of day affecting it where there's just going to be more people on then not. And finally obviously your trophy range has a lot to do with what kind of bases you'll come across, which is why I don't stay in 1 range for maybe more than a day or two. I really don't think spending gems which you can get for free has much to do with it, because by that logic it should be if you charge gems to your account you should get better loot, not spending gems.
