Well...I've initiated the transition to th8. I'm a mostly upgraded th7, but I have collectors and one barrack left to upgrade. My bk is lvl 2 but the other dark troops are level 1. A friend of mine said Ive made a mistake by not maxing absolutely everything, but I want to get to th8. Ill try to get much of the remaining items upgraded, but is it as big of a deal about moving to th8 not 100% maxed as my friend has stated? Ty guys.
You are fine as long as you maxed your AOE defenses and at least some of your point defense. BK is not necessary to upgrade at all, I didn't start mine til TH8, and dark troops are even less necessary especially if you don't use them. People seem to like using hogs in clan wars so if anything work on those, but I still use level 1 hogs and wreck TH9 so again, not necessary. Don't listen to your friend :)
P.S. upgrade collectors while you wait for the transition and try to get a few of those maxed, but otherwise just start saving up your resources!
Your fine as your camps, lab, and Mortars are max. As well as max walls
Yes it is, everytime you upgrade you lose the ability to earn loot from the th2 levels under you, the loot awarded is cut by 50%
second reason is your number 1 defense is not being worth raiding, as a th7 your not worth enough loot because of the 50% reduction in winnings, as soon as you turn th8 you will suddenly become a target of those th9 raiders that until now have skipped raiding you.
Prepare to have it become harder to earn loot as you will have to start raiding higher level bases, and to be raided by stronger players.

You made a mistake. Anyways upgrade everything including lab and walls. Made that mistake in th8. I maxed my th8 before going to th9 and it helped a lot.
Well...I thought about staying at th7, but I feel like I need to move to a new challenge...Ive been here for a few months. I figured id start to get attacked by th9, 8s, and 10s, but it's inevitable isn't it...? We have to move on eventually, and I raid quite a bit, so I'm hoping i make more than I lose.
Ahh...the only thing that's not upgraded fully is one barrack, collectors, and dark troops. I'll try to get most of those done in the 8 days.Quote:

This loot penalty ♥♥♥♥ is total ♥♥, just because you can't attack TH6 anymore doesn't mean you will have loot problems. I have elixir out of my ears right now and I'm not even trying to farm it. It's true you will get attacked by TH9, but if you just put your TH outside of base you'd be surprised how often you will get a free shield.
I was maybe 50% max walls and only 2 of my barracks were maxed when I jumped to TH8. I'm just over a month into it and I've never had loot problems, ever. Just make sure when you finish the jump to upgrade lab ASAP, and get your archers and barbs upgraded. I've been using barch ever since TH7 and it's never let me down.
If you want to see my base progress, look up the clan kpopocean, same user as my forum name. You'll see what I mean :P
Before transitioning to another TH always have your base maxed and your storages full so immediately when the TH finishes upgrading you can start your lab, splash, new building etc without having to raid.Quote:

Wow guys, he'll be fine. Each new town hall level is always a little rough, whether you max the previous one or not. If you know how to farm it works out just fine. It was not a mistake at all.
It was fine. I haven't upgraded most of my de troops and it hasn't hurt me. The king I got up to lvl 9 at th 8 with him being lvl 2 or so at th 7 so that shouldn't hurt you either. If the barrack can train the troops you use to farm then that is also fine.
Please don't listen to the people who are saying it's a big deal. You don't have to max everything. That's bull. You'll be absolutely fine with no handicap whatsoever at Town Hall 8, you won't even notice a difference in loot at all. Don't take this as advice to rush your Town Hall though, you've maxed enough where you'll be fine, but do the same thing you did for 7 in 8. Maybe try to get the Barbarian King to level 5 at least though.
you are fine and shouldn't worry that much, you will be getting level 5 troops and level 3 dragon plus an extra AD & AT.i didn't get my bk till th8 and now his level 9, level3 minions and level 3hogs. your gold grab per hour will increase so will you De income.as th8 you will now be able to move throughout all the gold leagues without much of a hustle
