I maxed all my gold and elixir storages at TH7 so I have 4M storage of each. As a relatively new TH 8 it will be quite a while before I need more than 4M of a resource for any upgrade. Should I build the other 2 storages?
Does having more storages make it easier or harder for people to raid my resources?

Yes, get your new storages and max them out fast, it will spread out your loot more so attackers will get less per storage.
No upgrade at TH8 needs more than four million gold or elixir, so it's not needed.
However, it's smart to build them and max them out (well, I've got two level eleven storages and one level ten), because it spreads your loot between the three storages and forces the attacker to get all three storages to get the full gold or elixir amount available (except the loot in mines/collectors).
Do not do it. It would be hard to defend and if you do not you lose loot.
i would recommend buying the 3rd storages. makes it harder to get all of the loot. and at TH8 there are enough defenses to protect all three.Quote:

I'd highly recommend you max all storages, if nothing else, they act as buffers to slow down the enemy.
It makes it harder to obtain all your loot.
Trust me I understand the concept of 'less buildings, more available walls', but it is simply not a worth while trade off.
Although it seems better to have 4 (5 including the DE storage) more effectively protected than 6, eventually someone, say th9/10, is going to come across your base and take it all regardless of how defended they are. Atleast having 6 will make it more difficult and deter less experienced players from even attempting to attack with such spread out storages.
I struggled with this same issue and thought 4 was the way to go. After two weeks in to TH 8 I realized Elixir doesn't matter so put those 3 maxed Elixir storages near the outside walls and use them as shields for your defenses. Get the three Gold storages and triangulate them. I'm in the process of building out my 3rd Elixir and Gold storages.
If someone is going to three star you it doesn't matter if you have 4 or 6 storages. The key for a TH 8 is to protect your 3 Gold storages and DE. If you can limit your losses to 2 out of those 4 storages, declare it a victory.
