Just curious about if people play Hay Day with the sound and music on or off!
There are times when I'll turn it off, but I usually play with the sound/music on. I love the sounds the farm and town make, especially the visitors!
Off. My phone is always on mute.
To be honest, I have never heard any of the Hay Day sounds.
I didn't vote because I actually play both ways. I play four devices, the two main devices has one with all sounds off of everything, and one with sounds on. :)
Sound and music on, but at the very lowest volume. Any louder and I find it distracting and irritating, but this applies to all games/apps!
The music was cute for the first day, but then got old, so it is off all time. Hay Day music isn't really better/worse than most other games in this regard: it fits the theme of the game, but is very limited, and not so amazingly awesome that you want to hear it for hours per day. Games whose music can be on all the time generally have huge music budgets behind them. Halo 3 for example, was amazing, but is in a completely different category that a fremium game probably should not aspire to.
I would occasionally play with the farm sounds on, but definitely have it off when checking in during coffee/bathroom breaks at work ;)
But I now generally keep farm sounds off all the time as well There is just too much background noise. Constant animal noise is not useful and just tiring. Maybe if they would cluck a few times when eggs were ready and then shut up. Also, I frequently play with headphones on (with "real" music in the background), and the "ploink" noises when selecting items in machines are way too loud to be comfortable. I think these issues are poor design on SC's part.
My answer is not here but I turn the sound on only when in the town. I like the train sounds and the things the visitors say.
I mostly play with music/sound off to not bothers those around me in RL...
I will occasionally turn the volume up so I can hear the game, but certain sounds are way too loud! Like when you are harvesting - XP flying into your bar wayyy to loud for my liking! Every time I do turn the sound up, I usually hear something new or interesting..
I've always played with the sound & music off...why ? So the hubby doesn't know I'm on the farm ,AGAIN :p
Only now he moans about listening to the click, click, click of me typing away while I'm on the forum😄
Most of the time I have my phone on so I can hear my cows mooing but when we have company over it's usually off only because I do not want my two nieces running off with my iphone. lol
I like some of the sounds, like the trains, but I absolutely HATE the noises the townspeople make, so I keep the sound off all the time.
Off. My phone and ipad are always on mute.
To be honest, I have never heard any of the sounds of Hay Day.
I'm really surprised by this. Aren't u guys at least curious?
I always have the sounds on at 20%. Hearing the HD theme always brings back the nostalgic feelings of when I first started playing many, many moons ago.
The only time I had it on mute was when they had that jingle bell theme for 2 months past Christmas. It was cool at first but it got annoying quick.
Never have been. What is there to be curious about? It's music, jingles and animal noises, really not something I want to listen to for any length of time. Not really something I want to annoy other people with on the bus or in hospital or what not.
The first thing I do on my app games is go into settings and turn the sounds off.
I see ur point. I'm just amazed that some of u never heard the sounds of HD before. Granted, it's nothing to write home about but for me it's all part of the whole HD experience. The gameplay, the graphics, the sounds...the whole nine yards.
It's all subjective whether we want the sounds on or off. But as an avid gamer, I enjoy everything a game has to offer, sounds included. That doesn't mean I'm playing it on full blast...just some ear candy for my ears to enjoy. But to each his own.
It depends on the game. In the case of apps ones I just don't bother as I think the sound quality isn't that good, it could be the speakers or a limitation of a game and the depth of the music doesn't add anything to me.
Where my PC games are concerned I do have the sound on as they do add to the atmosphere of the game, and some of them are great in their own right, Lament Of the Highborn comes to mind, and I was introduced to Adagio For Strings during one cut scene in an old game, I even keep an old Me machine around to play the game in question because it is still one of my favourites.
Off off off...until my son sits down and wants to hear the donkey. Then I just say yes master lol
Usually off because I play in the living room with the TV on. The hay day sounds don't mix well with Deep Space Nine, Criminal minds, the BigBang Theory , etc.
Never played with my sound/music on. I have only heard a few thing on HD when my Daughter has her sound on.
Both sound and music ON for me! I do get a bit irritated by the new little people sounds, but overall, I don't keep it that loud, so it's all good. :-)
Sound off on my phone and iPad...
Wow, I am now realizing that maybe I should have added many more options in the poll!
Thanks for all the responses to this thread (it seems I'm not the only one to play with my devices on mute), it's interesting to read about the different reasons for playing with or without sound and music!
