At long Last SuperCell added a "meaning" for trophies:cool: ( other than play time and gems )
Whether will it be sufficient.... don't know.... only time will tell? but the stats are meh :/
So they killed 39% - surrender? (: they hate us.... everyone will be going for at least one star win...
The bonus shouldn't be deducted from the defender though...

as a few people have mentioned, it seems far more likely that "battles won" refers to successful defenses (where you increase in trophies now). Giving a loot bonus to people who successfully defend will help remove the incentive for cheap TH shields and "farming" tactics. it will also naturally nudge people to their true trophy ranges.
giving attackers the loot bonus would be horribly exploitable -- and would align the incentives of people looking for cheap shields with people looking for quick loot bonuses. why would supercell introduce an incentive for collusion (more than what already exists?). can you imagine how many people will leave their TH undefended if magical loot bonuses are awarded? that would basically be free shields for defenders and free loot for attackers. it would break the game.
now, i suppose this might create a system where people drop a troop and leave (thereby awarding the base they were attacking with bonus loot and trophies) as people try to get down to trophy ranges where their own bases can successfully defend, but i'm sure supercell could just implement a penalty on attackers or some sort of cooldown on how often you could receive bonuses to discourage/protect against this.
I wonder therefore if this means the introduction of a visible win:loss statistic ?
